Let me take you to this Aconcagua ascent through the panoramic Polish route, I guarantee you’ll never forget this amazing experience!

Mount Aconcagua (6962 m) is widely known in mountaineering world because it’s the highest mountain outside the Himalayas, and the closest to 7000 meters outside Asia. It’s located in Mendoza, Argentina and being one of the Seven Summits, it’s in every mountaineer bucket list.

And I’ve designed this 18-day program for you to be able of enjoy not only the Summit of this incredible mountain, but also the breathtaking east face of it, with the Polish glacier as its main characteristic. This Polish route also gives you the chance to admire the Mercedario mountain (6720 m).

We’ll start in Mendoza and I’ll help you with your gear set up and permit request. Then we’ll take a transfer to the starting point and gradually hike up to acclimatize your body nice and slowly.

This is a demanding program and you’ll need a high fitness level and previous mountaineering experience to safely enjoy it.

One porter every four climbers, to carry 20 kg of common gear.

NOT INCLUDED: Mt. Aconcagua State Park climbing permit, personal porters. any cost incurred by the climber if she or he leaves the trip early (such as mules, transfers, guide, etc), meals in Mendoza, drinks in Mendoza and Penitentes, personal gear, medications, ground or air evacuations, room services, laundry, beverages, phone communications and items of personal nature, insurance liability, hospitalization or medication of any kind, any other service not mentioned in this condition sheet.

Any cost incurred by the climber if she or he leaves the trip early (such as mules, hotels, transfers, guide, etc).We strongly recommend all participants to buy a trip cancelation insurance.

Itinerary

Day 1: Mendoza

Arrival to Mendoza. I’ll pick you up at the airport and drive to the hotel. Then, we’ll be in touch to coordinate the activities for the next days. Enjoy the city of Mendoza on your first day.

Day 2: Transfer to Penitentes

We’ll travel to Penitentes in a private transfer. Accommodation in the Mountain Hotel (2580 m).

Day 3: Penitentes - Punta de Vacas - Pampa de Leñas

Early breakfast in the hotel and transfer to the Aconcagua Provincial Park. We’ll start a 4-hour hike through the Vacas River to Pampa de Leñas (2950 m), our first camp.

Day 4: Pampa de Leñas - Casa de Piedra

Hike to the second camp, Casa de piedra (3240 m). You’ll be able to enjoy the view of the Polish Glacier and the east face of the Aconcagua

Day 5: Casa de Piedra - Plaza Argentina

Alongside the Relinchos stream we’ll walk for 6 or 7 hours until we’ll reach the Base Camp: Plaza Argentina (4190 m).

Day 6: Rest day in Plaza Argentina

Day off to rest and acclimatize in Plaza Argentina.

Day 7: Plaza Argentina - Campo 1 - Plaza Argentina

We’ll begin the ascent. We’ll take the equipment to Camp 1 (4800 m) and return to Base Camp.

Day 8: Rest day in Plaza Argentina

Day off to rest and acclimatize in Plaza Argentina.

Day 9: Plaza Argentina - Camp 1

Hike to Camp 1 and night over there.

Day 10: Camp 1 - Camp 2 - Camp 1

Portage day. We’ll carry loads to Camp 2, the Chopper Camp (5490 m). You’ll enjoy the view of the Mercedario and La Ramada massif. We’ll return to Camp 1 for the night.

Day 11: Rest day in Camp 1

Day off to rest and acclimatize in Camp 1.

Day 12: Camp 1 - Camp 2

Ascent to Camp 2.

Day 13: Camp 2 - Cólera camp

Ascent to Cólera camp (5970 m), our last camp.

Day 14: Summit Day

We’ll approach Mount Aconcagua summit (6992 m) early in the morning and then return to Cólera camp.

Day 15 to 16: Extra days

Extra days in case of bad weather or any inconvenience.

Day 17: Cólera camp - Plaza de Mulas

Descent to Plaza de Mulas camp (4350 m).

Day 17: Plaza de Mulas - Horcones - Mendoza

Descent to Horcones and transfer to Mendoza.
