Description

There are many different ways you can explore the gorgeous High Tatras mountain range in Slovakia. You can trek to the summit of many of its peaks, including the highest peak in the range, Rysy (2,503m). You can also trek through some of the range’s beautiful mountain saddles, like Baranie Sedlo (2,384m), or hike to beautiful mountain lakes like Biele or Zelene Pleso. However, on this trip, which takes place during the winter, you will get to see the High Tatras during a full day snowshoeing tour. And during the tour, you will also get to visit the Zbojnicka hut, where you can enjoy some truly amazing views.

The trip will last approximately 5 – 6 hours. Departing from Hrebienok, we will venture into the wilderness of the Tatras, where you will get to view the beautiful landscape from within. This will ensure that you get an up close and personal look at the exquisite natural beauty of the sprawling area. Also, don’t be surprised if you see tracks from the area’s abundant wildlife left behind in the snow. And if you’re very lucky, you might even get to see the animals themselves, from bears to wolves, but don’t get too close, of course!

We will also be visiting the Zbojnicka hut. This lovely mountain hut will give you a great place to relax. It will also provide you with a perfect spot to take pictures of the snow capped peaks looming all around.

I'm a UIMLA-certified mountain leader, based in Donly Smokovec in Slovakia. I'll take you to explore the High Tatras and other mountain ranges in Europe.

Apart from guiding, I work in the local mountain rescue service and I've participated in the most important ski mountaineering races around the world. I've won bronze medals from the World and European Championships, 3rd place at the Pierra Menta race (the biggest skimo racing competition in the world), and 1st place in Whistler's High Range classic.
