Description

Spain is a marvellous country. It is home of some of the most iconic cultural places on Earth, and exquisite gastronomy. But, it also has mesmerizing natural spots worth exploring, like the Pyrenees.

Join me on this 2-day winter mountaineering course in one of the most beautiful parts of the Pyrenees. Depending on your requests and the itinerary we choose, we could explore Cerdanya, Val D’Aran, Benasque or other marvellous places. So we can learn all the basics about this thrilling activity.

Winter brings a special glow to the Pyrenees. It covers these mountains with a pristine layer of snow. And it opens a whole different range of opportunities to adventurers, including winter mountaineering. However, to navigate through this land, specially during this season, requires special training. Let me share with you all my knowledge, and accompany you on this journey. So you get to experience this wonderful adventure.

Over the course of two days, we will explore fantastic places. And we will get some of the best views and most breathtaking sceneries of this mountain range. Then, we will focus on covering all the basic knowledge and contents you will require for winter mountaineering.

Some of the contents and goals we will achieve are:

Progression techniques on easy terrains covered in snow
Identify the potential dangers and hazards
Develop autonomy
Choose the appropriate winter route with safety
How to use and maintain technical gear
Use of crampons and ice axes
Basic snow science
Reading the terrain
