Close to the Italian town of Cortina d'Ampezzo, Via ferrata Punta Anna is a great way to enjoy the Dolomites!
Punta Anna (2731 m) is an impressive pillar which belongs to the Tofane mountain group.
Our starting point for this trip can be Pomedes Hut (cable car) or Dibona Hut (by car). One way or another, we'll reach the via ferrata in half an hour and climb along a beautiful ridge. Then, we'll reach Giussani Hut for a rest and finally go back to the Dibona Hut.
This via ferrata is located in a stunning scenery, so we'll enjoy amazing views of the Cortina Valley, Cinque Torri and Antelao.
Please contact me if you want to challenge yourself in via ferrata Punta Anna! I'll be glad to be your guide in this wonderful section of the Dolomites.
However, if you are looking for other via ferrata trips in this area, you may want to take a look at this via ferrata in Marmolada, the highest mountain of the Dolomites or this Via ferrata del Formenton, in Cortina.

What is included in the price of this via ferrata tour?
My guiding fee and the via ferrata equipment (harness, helmet and lanyards with two carabiners attached) are included in the price of this via ferrata tour.
What should I bring with me for this via ferrata tour?
You need to wear normal mountain hiking clothes adapted to the weather and the temperature. The most important items are the shoes (hiking/approach shoes/boots) and the jacket (protecting you against the wind, the rain, and the cold). Please take also with you a backpack with water and food/snacks.
I'll bring you the via ferrata equipment (included in the price):
Where and when will we meet to start the Punta Anna via ferrata tour?
We'll meet around 8.30 am. The exact time will be confirmed one or two days before the tour based on the weather forecast.
The meeting point is at the Dibona hut (https://goo.gl/maps/qNGieDYe7EoisipQ7) which you can reach by car. It takes around 25 min from Cortina.
How many people maximum do you accept for this tour?
For safety reason, I usually take maximum 4 to 5 people with me. If you come with a larger group, I'll ask a colleague of mine to join us.
How experienced do we need to be to climb the via ferrata of Punta Anna?
The most important is to be fit (be able to do a physical effort for several hours) and not to have fear of heights. If you have rock climbing experience, it's even better.
How long does the tour take?
The Punta Anna via ferrata adventure takes around 5 hours.
What other via ferrata in the area would you recommend?
Here are some other very nice ferrata in the area: Punta Fiames (a bit easier, https://www.explore-share.com/trip/punta-fiames-via-ferrata-dolomites/), Lipella (a bit longer, https://www.explore-share.com/trip/1-day-via-ferrata-giovanni-lipella-tofana-di-rozes-near-cortina/), Tomaselli (more challenging, https://www.explore-share.com/trip/guided-tomaselli-via-ferrata-passo-falzarego/) and Ferrata col dei bos (easier).
If you wish, we could do a multi-day via ferrata tour together, combining a few of them.
When is the best time of the year to do the Punta Anna via ferrata?
The months of June, July, August and September are usually the best months to do via ferrata in the Dolomites. May and October could work as well.
How soon should I book this tour with you?
You should book as soon as you can. The summer months are really busy in the Dolomites. I get fully booked very quickly.
I'm alone, can I join a group?
I mostly guide PRIVATE via ferrata and climbing tours during the summer. Mixing together people that don't know each other is a bit complicated and the experience is not always the best for the participants.
Can children make it?
Children can come if they can manage to do a physical effort for several hours and if they don't have fear of heights. I have guided 8 years old children in the past.

Mountain Guide
I started my career as an aerospace engineer, my first passion and then became a full-time IFMGA mountain guide, my second passion, since 2013. Working as a mountain guide gratifies me a lot. I enjoy very much transmitting my knowledge about the mountains and its activities to my friends and clients. I’m based in the Dolomites where I have climbed most of the mountain surroundings us here, including “Via attraverso il Pesce” in Marmolada and “Captain sky-hook” in Civetta. I also enjoy a lot guiding in the rest of the Alps, ice climbing, ski touring, freeride skiing, rock climbing and mountaineering. Feel free to contact me if you want to live a great adventure in the Dolomites or anywhere else in the Alps, during the winter or the summer. It will be a great pleasure for me to guide you and allow you to reach your goal.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
