Secured wired routes (commonly known as via ferrata) are very popular in Slovenia. Discover some of the best spots for this activity in the Julian Alps and enjoy an exciting high-altitude experience!
The Julian Alps stretch along the border of Slovenia and northeastern Italy. Due to its impressive mountains, lakes and valleys, this region is considered as an outstanding destination for mountain sports lovers.
In fact, those seeking for challenge and adventure will be thrilled with the wide range of via ferratas in this region. You can find routes for every level, either for beginners or expert climbers.
So here's what I propose: we can go on a 1 or 2-day trip, choosing one or several routes.
In fact, I can pick you up at your location in Kranjska Gora, Mojstrana or Bled and then take you back.
Mala Mojstrovka (2332 m) - Hanzova route
On the steep face of this peak lies one of the most attractive via ferrata routes in the country: Hanzova Pot trail. Fun and adrenaline, though not suitable for those with fear of heights!
1: €280 2:€150 3:€117 4:€100
Prisank (2547 m) – Kopiščarjeva route
A popular route in Slovenia. The ascent involves climbing through a huge natural window. Because of that, it's a very scenic via ferrata.
1: €330 2:€200 3:€167
Prisank (2547 m) – Hanzova or Hanza route
It's also on the north face of Prisank. Many people say it is the hardest via ferrata in the country.
1: €330 2:€200 3:€167
Vevnica (2340 m) – Via della Vita Route
A very popular but extremely hard route on the Italian side of this peak.
1: €350 2:€215 3:€167
Mangart (2679 m) – Via Italiana
A hard and very exposed via ferrata on the north wall of Slovenia's third highest peak. Although it involves a lot of effort, there's a reward: stunning landscapes!
1: €270 2:€165 3:€125
Montaz (2754 m) - Pipan's ladder
A 60 m high and almost vertical steel ladder on the second highest peak of the Julian Alps, after Mt Triglav.
1: €320 2:€185 3:€145
Montaz (2754 m) - Via Amalia route
This hard ferrata will take you to the summit of Montaz in 6 hours.
1:€270 2:€200
Please contact me if you want to enjoy one or several of these via ferrata routes. Whether you are a beginner or an expert climber, I can help you find the most suitable options for you according to your skills and experience.
In addition, you can also consider these two via ferrata routes near the village of Mojstrana: Aljaževa route (ideal for beginners) and Mojstranskih Veveric route (for experienced climbers).

Mountain Guide
I am an aspirant iFMGA mountain guide born in 1980 in Mojstrana, a Slovenian village close to Mount Triglav, the highest mountain in the country at 2864 m.
From an early age, my parents took me to the mountains during summer and winter. At that time, my father was part of a mountain rescue team in my hometown and was also going on expeditions to the Himalaya and the Andes, so he became a big inspiration for me. We went climbing, hiking, sport climbing and ski touring together. His enthusiasm truly influenced me.
I went to Alpine school, then Mountain rescue team, I did the Alpinist exam and I became an Alpinist instructor. After that, I also studied to be a professor of Sport. Several years later, I decided to begin my mountain guide education and to become an IFMGA/UIAGM certified mountain guide.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
