Join Borut, IFMGA mountain guide, on a 1-day rock climbing trip to a classic route in the north face of Mt Triglav: the Slovenian route.

Alpes juliennes

1 Day

Apr - Oct

Description

The impressive north face of Mount Triglav has more than 120 climbing routes. Let's go for a classic: the Slovenian Route.

This is a 700 m high climbing route, with a grade III in the UIAA grading system. Due to its low level of difficulty, it's a suitable route for beginners.

In fact, I suggest to try this climbing route after taking my 5-day rock climbing course in Slovenia. It will be a great opportunity to improve your skills!

Please contact me if you want to come on this climbing trip in the north face of Triglav. I can assure you it will be a unique way of visiting the most iconic peak in Slovenia.

Mountain Guide

I was born on 13th of June 1964. I have been practicing alpine climbing and guiding since 1988. I'm professional mountain guide since 2003, I'm also professional ski instructor and mountain bike guide. I was a member of a Mountain Rescue Association of Slovenia. Through all these years, mountains have become my second home and alpine climbing, with all its varieties, my way of life.

My alpine climbing started in the local mountains, Kamnik-Savinja Alps and Julian Alps, which are still my dearest. It continued to the steep walls of Dolomites then in the Western Alps and in the Andes of South America (two expeditions in Peru and Patagonia). I have climbed several first ascents at home and in the foreign mountains, done many ski touring and reached the tops of several fourthousanders in the Western Alps. However, I still found some time in between to wander around Argentina, Chile, West African coast,...

Let me list some of my outstanding ascents: climbing to Poincenot (3036 m) in Patagonia, solo first ascent to Artesonraju (6025 m) in Cordillera Blanca, Cerro Plata (6315 m) in Argentina, several routes in Dolomites' walls (Tofana, Tre Cime, Brenta,...). I have climbed almost all of the great classic routes in the local mountains (The Čop Pillar and Skalaška, Aschenbrener route in Travnik,...) and made some winter and summer first ascents. I sport climb up to IX grade.
All these experiences together with my international mountain guide license obtained through completing a mountain guide training guarantee that I will safely guide you through local and foreign mountains.

I have guiding experience from all around Europe, from Slovenian Alps to Dolomites, Italian, Swiss and French Alps and Kavkaz - Elbrus. I was guiding more than 30 fourthousend meter peaks. I guided Haute routes a few times, Chamonix to Zermatt and also Saas Fee to Zermatt.

Since 2013, I have been working for the British military (Army, Royal Navy, RAF) in Germany around Oberstdorf as their Rock climbing instructor, Via ferrata instructor, Alpine ski instructor and Ski touring instructor.

When I guide clients the most rewarding thing is the smile on their faces when reaching the desired peak and their happiness when we finish the tour.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
