Trekking tour and ascent to Almanzor and Galana summits

Sign up for this spectacular trekking expedition and ascent to Pico Almanzor and La Galana in Spain! We will spend 3 days together among the most amazing and wild landscapes of Sierra de Gredos in the Central System.

The summit of the Almanzor raises to 2591 meters, being the highest in all Gredos, the Central System and the province of Avila.

We will do two exciting bivouacs to add up to the adventurous spirit of the trip. We will sleep in tents, not huts, in total autonomy.

The path we will follow is a circular one which passes through Gredos most characteristic cliffs.

These are the Barranco del Pinar and Barranco de Gredos. Both are rarely frequented at this time of the year.

The Barranco del Pinar will take us to the Cañada de las Cinco Lagunas. Here is where we will camp the first night.

On the second day, we will trek entirely on ice or snow, and the path will lead us to Circo de Gredos. By following this route, we will reach Pico Almanzor’s peak and also the La Galana’s one, at 2564 meters.

Reaching both summits requires a climbing effort of grade III. Of course, our guide will be there to assure your ascent is safe.

On the second night, we will camp at an idyllic place, surrounded by small lagoons and granite mountain blocks.

But the adventure is not over yet! On our way back, we still pass through the Barranco de Gredos with its pools, lake system prairies and gall-oak woods.

Although not extremely challenging, this trekking activity requires some previous mountain climbing experience. And also, to be in optimal physical shape since we will carry our rucksack with what we will need for the bivouacs,
