3 Days

Jan - Apr, Oct - Dec

Description

Join me for a beautiful 3-day trekking in the area of Bariloche, North Patagonia! We'll hike up to the historical Frey hut and then do a trekking traverse to Jakob hut.

This is a program of medium level of difficulty. I recommend it to people with a good physical shape and also with some previous experience in mountain trekking.

We'll walk through different landscapes, including forests, stone paths, ridges, and we might even find some snow in the higher stages. Besides, we'll have stunning views of mountains, lakes and valleys.

For further details, you can find an itinerary below.

Please contact me if you are interested in doing this trekking in a breathtaking spot of North Patagonia!

I also organize rock climbing trips and day-hiking trips here in Bariloche.

Itinerary

Day 1: Bariloche - Frey mountain hut

Starting from Bariloche, trekking up to Frey mountain hut, where we’ll spend the night.

Day 2: San Martin (Jakob) mountain hut

Following Cerro Catedral’s ridge, we reach and go down the Rucaco valley, and we then reach San Martín (Jakob) mountain hut after going up Tres Reyes ridge.

Day 3: Cerro Cella - Bariloche

During the morning we ascend Cerro Cella, and in the afternoon we go down and back to Bariloche.

Note: this day is quite challenging, so according to the level and energy of the group, we can decide to replace Cerro Cella’s ascent with a shorter trekking and then go back to Bariloche.

Mountain Guide

Originally from San Carlos de Bariloche, as a teenager I became interested in climbing and skiing.

I'm a certified AAGM mountain guide since 2005 and a ski guide, and worked in Northern and Southern Patagonia, including expeditions such as the Patagonian icefield round trips, Nahuel Huapi and Los glaciares national parks´guide.

I'm also a second degree ski patrol and have been working for the last 15 winters in Catedral (Bariloche, Argentina) and Grandvalira (Andorra). ANPS and EASP ski patrol.

I climbed many mountains at Chalten area (Guillaumet, Mermoz, Rafael, Saint Exupéry, media luna), Cerro Fitz Roy (supercanaleta, and Affanasief) and Pilar Casarotto (first female team). Also passionate for sport climbing, I reached a maximum grade of 7 c + (French scale) and have skied through several mountains including Cerro Gorra blanca, Vespignani, Tronador and Lanin.

I'm also a Yoga Vital instructor.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
