Surround yourself with stunning scenery and local wildlife as I lead you on a tour through the Gran Paradiso National Park in Italy.
With soaring peaks, jagged cliffs and isolated glaciers, get an intimate sense of the western section of the Alps.
With our base on the French side of the border, we soon cross and surround ourselves on the Italian section of the Alps and into the national park.
Trekking past rock spires, tranquil lakes and cascading waterfalls, we climb deeper into the wilderness. And our 7 nights in refuges and hotels gives us the chance to eat traditional Italian food high in the Alps.
Because of the long stretches of trekking involved (7-9 hours per day) a good level of fitness and hill-walking experience is essential.
No specialist equipment is need on the trip. However, we will be travelling through the wilderness with a fair amount of ascents and descents. Also, the mountain refuges we stay in are inaccessible, so there is no vehicle support for the majority of the trip. So we need to carry our own equipment. Although we don’t need to pack sleeping bags or camping mattresses, so we should be able to keep our packs light.
Immerse yourself in the Alpine wilderness and challenge yourself on this 8-day trip. Reserve your place and join me as we cross some unforgettable scenery.
We begin in the mountain village of Argentière in the Chamonix valley. Before our first dinner I will brief you on the week’s activities.
With a trip through the Mount Blanc tunnel we cross into Italy. After being dropped off in Pont, we begin with a steep but slow trek into the large meadows surrounding the Laghi del Nivolet lakes.
We head to the lakes of Lago Leyta and Lago Rosset, enjoying beautiful vistas of mountains and valleys. Traversing the mountainside and descend steadily to the Rifugio Benevolo.
A steady climb takes us towards the Col Bassac Dere (3,085m) before trekking past the Lac de Golette and the Glacier de Golette. Making our way past the cascading streams and waterfalls, we find our base for the night.
Starting gently with easy paths that take us to the Chalet de l’Epée. From here we climb the Colle Finestra de Torrent (2,875m), followed by a steep descent to the commune of Rhêmes-Notre-Dame (1,723m).
Crossing a river and climbing through forests, we reach the Plan de Feya. As we ascend above the treeline we are greeted with beautiful views of the mountain range. As we make our way to the Col d’Entrelor (3,007m) wonderful views of Gran Paradiso appear.
The final day is spent in the shadow of Gran Paradiso, as we traverse its slopes, and enjoy the vistas of the whole Valsavarenche commune. At the bottom of the trail we take our transfer back to Argentière.
Our trip finishes after breakfast!

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
