Description

This early-season trip in Les Saisies, Savoie, combines trail initiation, yoga and wellbeing for a maximum relaxation in the heart of the mountains. During 3 days, you can benefit from expert advice to improve your trail skills. In addition, you will get extra benefits from yoga: breathing, postures, mental preparation…

A complement of the journey will be the moments of wellbeing, with free access to the hotel spa. In particular, there’s an indoor pool, a hammam and sauna). You also have access to the Saisies aqua-fitness center. Furthermore, you will enjoy a recovery massage to make the best of the stay.

The trail outings in general will not be longer than 2 hours, ensuring an active but pleasant stay.

Performing well depends on listening to yourself and respecting your body. Therefore, yoga is extremely useful for trail practice. Yoga is a life philosophy and a complete tool. Both to complement trail practice and for everyday life!

The expert joining us is Sophie Bernaille. Besides a yoga instructor, she is passionate about the mountain.

During these 3 days we will run on average 10-15km a day and go up from 500 to 1000 meters. We will mainly be on large paths and non technical terrain.

Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome and trail

Welcome in the late morning, briefing and info about the stay.
Lunch at the restaurant.
Trail outing (around 1:30hs) with technical advice to progress when descending.
Thematic evening: Nutrition, how to eat in trail?

Day 2: Trail, yoga and massage

2h trail in the morning with technical advice.
Lunch at the restaurant.
Yoga session in the afternoon (around 1:15hs).
Evening off to enjoy the Saisies spa, wellbeing massage (30 min).

Day 3: Trail or snowshoeing

Trail or snowshoeing, depending on the conditions (around 2:30hs).
Lunch at the restaurant.
The trip ends in the afternoon.

More info

A minimum number of participants (defined in advance) is required for the departure to take place. If the number of participants is insufficient and the departure is cancelled, clients will be informed via a phone call at least a week prior to the scheduled departure date and will receive a complete refund.

Clients are required to have a multi-risk insurance, covering cancellation fees, rescue and accident, repatriation and baggage loss or theft.

Group size: 6 to 10 people.

Included:

  • unlimited access to the spa and pool
  • 1 wellbeing and recovery massage (30 min)
  • 1 yoga session with a professional

Required level:

  • Practice running twice a week for about 1 hour
  • No specific practice required (e.g. trail or mountain hiking)

Equipment:

  • During the day: a light backpack with a waterproof jacket, a long sleeve warm fleece type, a survival blanket, a whistle, an individual pharmacy kit*, a cap or headband, a hat and thin gloves, sunglasses suitable for running, cereal bars and energy drinks, a minimum reserve water of 1.5L, an elastic strapping strip
  • To wear: long tights, a short-sleeved and a long-sleeved t-shirt, running socks and already worn trail shoes
  • For the whole stay: spare clothes for 3 days, a personal hygiene kit, spare shoes, a spare water socket, a floor mat
  • Recommended additional equipment: poles and camera
  • Individual pharmacy kit: anti-friction cream, sunscreen, double skin dressings, elastic band

Mountain Leader

I hold the State Certificate of Mountain Leader (UIMLA), Athlete of Team Garmin Adventure. I won many trail competitions such as Oxygen Challenge, The Glaciers Tour of Vanoise, Albertville Trail, Drayes Blanches of Vercors, the Frison Roche Beaufort, Run and skate of Chamonix… I have also some racing podiums such as the Saintélyon, the Lyon Urban Trail, the Causses Marathon, the Allobroges. I am an ex-sportswoman of high level in rowing (World Championships, World Cups, France Championships). I have a mastery STAPS (Sport) and BEES First degree in rowing.
