Description

If you’ve already tried trail-running and you have a crave for new mountain challenges, this 4-day adventure in the Vercors massif is perfect for you!

This 4-day trail running program is a great chance to enjoy a playground with different facets: limestone plateaus, cliffs, caves and canyons. You’ll be able to practice in multiple terrains and sharpen your skills in the high mountains.

The Vercors massif belong to the Pre-Alps, in the South East of France. Most of the area is protected by a regional park: Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors.

Our itinerary in the Vercors include long and technical routes, sometimes with narrow paths on the wall of a mountain. Many sections and mountain passes are graded as D+ (difficult in the Alpine System).

The first day we’ll begin our training on a 23 kilometers trail that will lead us to the summit of Mont Aiguille (2,085 m), a peak whose first ascent is considered the birth of alpinism.

The second day we’ll reach the summit of Bonnet de l’Evêque (2,663), as part of a tough 29 kilometers trail on a rubble terrain. We’ll be practicing sky-running (as trail running is called when it’s practiced in technical mountain paths above 2,000 meters.

On day 3 we’ll explore Grotte de la Fétoure, one of the many caves in the Vercors. Using our frontal-lights, we’ll get inside the bowels of the mountain: a fascinating experience! The whole trail will be 27 kilometers length.

The last day we’ll follow a trail to Grande Tête de l’Obiou, the highest peak of the Dauphiné Alps. The majestic and imposing walls of the Obiou will be the scenery for an amazing sky-running journey. This day will have it all, from a long climb to running on a ridge while overcoming vertigo. The trail goes along 26 kilometers in one of the wildest sections of the Vercors.

During this 4-day trip, we’ll be staying at a familiar mountain hut in the small village of Trièves, where you can taste organic dishes and enjoy an ecoturism experience.

Are you ready for a true immersion in the mountains? Would you like to improve your trail-running skills? Send me a request to book this trip! I’ll be happy to guide you in this amazing French massif!

Mountain Leader

Passionate about trail running, the outdoors and everything that nature provides to us, I got certified as a mountain leader by the Club Alpin Belge. I also work as a school teacher and devote my free time to my artistic pursuits.

Maps are another of my big passions. I collect them and spend hours looking at them and searching for the best itineraries in the Alps, the Andes, the Carpathians...and then I take you to explore them, running or walking.

My mission is to share with you the happiness that a high altitude lake can provide, the comfort that one can find in a rustic mountain hut and the excitement of walking along a mountain ridge. Looking forward to meeting you!

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Maxine

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Valeriya

You’re simply the best!!! :))) Explore-Share made everything easy and stress-free. Will definitely use again.

Joshua

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Cami

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
