Description

Three days of trail running in the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park, in Italy, to approach the environment of high mountains and run in the vast wilderness.

You will enjoy amazing days with mountain passes at over 3000 m in sumptuous landscapes. In addition, staying in a chalet in the mountains with every comfort will help you relax in the evenings. Moreover, in the evening, the vigil around the large wooden table and Luigi stories will leave you with lasting memories.

During these 3 days we will run on average 35km a day and go up from 1500 to 2500 meters. We will mainly be on single tracks and technical trails (stone, névé…). We will partially run off trails and be on aerial paths.

The highlights of this 3-day trail running course are the following:

  1. A wild stay in a remote and uncommon place, in the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park;
  2. The Accommodation in a comfortable mountain chalet;
  3. An inspiring and sportive weekend to begin Autumn in good shape.

In the ‘extra’ section below, you’ll find information about the required trail running level you need to have. You will also see the equipment that you need to bring with you.

I invite you to send me a request if you want to train with me in this splendid setting of Val d’Aosta.

If ever this program should not meet your expectations, I will present my other trips that I organize all year round, in the Alps and elsewhere, for beginners and more experienced in trail. For example, this trail running stage in the beautiful Beaufortain.

Itinerary

Day 1: Tsanteleina Lake

Meeting point in Chamonix, minibus transfer to Rhèmes Notre Dame, picnic to be arranged individually. This first day of warm-up allows us to climb to the refuge via a pretty loop that takes us to the Tsanteleina lake (2766m). The refuge is not accessible by road so we'll need to bring our overnight gear and a change of clothes.

Day 2: Pointe de la Traversière and Bassac pass

It's hard to describe the beauty of the scenery on this day. We admire the highest peaks around France, Italy, and Switzerland. We take a relatively technical route in a high-mountain atmosphere and in the spirit of Skyrunning! The Pointe de la Traversière culminates at 3338m.

Day 3: Pointe Baseï and Rosset Lake

A final day amidst the glacial lakes of Grand Paradis National Park, taking us over 2 high-altitude passes with technical sections, (mountain climbing required). Col Baseï is accessed via a glacier valley, from up there we can admire the lakes and the summit of Grand Paradis. As an option, weather permitting, we'll hike up to Pointe Baseï to Pointe Baseï (3338m), which is a summit that can be reached quite easily through the rocks with a roped passage. Then we have a picnic by the lake, before tackling the day's second difficulty col Rosset (400m D+), and before descending into the Thumel valley.

What people are saying about Explore-Share

Man

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Maxine

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Valeriya

You’re simply the best!!! :))) Explore-Share made everything easy and stress-free. Will definitely use again.

Joshua

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Cami

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
