Join me for this 1-day splitboard summit and descent of Stubacher Sonnblick, a beautiful peak in the Austrian Alps! If you have previous resort snowboarding experience and want to tackle your first splitboard tour, then this trip is for you!
Stubacher Sonnblick rises to an altitude of 3,088m and sits on the border of the Austrian provinces of Salzburg and East Tyrol. Located in the Hohe Tauren mountains, many choose to reach the summit of this glaciated peak by cable car, which makes it a popular destination for skiers and snowboarders who want a fun off-piste ride in a stunning alpine landscape. However, during this splitboarding tour we will challenge ourselves by skipping the cable car and ascending on foot!
To begin the day, we will meet at the Weißsee Gletscherwelt resort. From there, we walk to Rudolfshütte where the splitboard traverse begins. We must cross Weißsee lake before reaching the base of Stubacher Sonnblick. I will then guide you through the ascent of the mountain. Once we reach the summit, we will have a moment to celebrate the achievement and enjoy the incredible panoramic vista from the top. From there, it’s all downhill, as we enjoy the ride down the mountain back to the valley. We will end back in Rudolfshütte.
Participants must have some previous snowboarding experience and the physical fitness to complete the ascent and descent. However, no previous splitboarding or off-piste touring experience is required – this is a great opportunity for your first splitboard ascent and descent of a 3,000m peak!
Book now and I guarantee a fun and rewarding daylong splitboarding trip! You will love the feeling of accomplishment after you ascend and descend a 3,000m mountain!

Mountain Guide
The mountains have always been a great part of my life. I was a youth leader of the Alpine Association of Zell am See, Bergrettungsmann, and completed the training as a ski and snowboard instructor. I studied meteorology because it can be very useful in mountaineering. My first trips took me to the Eastern Alps, around Piz Bernina and Biancogray. I also had the chance many times the amazing Mont Blanc range and the peaks around Chamonix. Finally, I got to practice in the high mountains of Bolivia and Chile.
I have really found my calling as a mountain guide. I am right where I always wanted to be. The smile on my clients' faces at the summit or after an intense ski day is so rewarding!
I am part of a team of local guides (Bergführer Zell am See Kaprun), all friends of mine, guys with whom I share the passion for the mountains. They are Markus B, Markus H and Gerald, all IFMGA certified guides. Our philosophy is "to know how to do something well is to enjoy it". Therefore, we always keep learning to give you the best experience.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
