Description
Mamay Valley is a mountain region located near Lake Baikal, in Siberia. In winter this place becomes a snow paradise for ski-tour. Visit it during this awesome 7-day trip in Russia!
Mamay Valley is located 200 km from Irkutsk, just several kilometers from Lake Baikal, one of the largest, deepest and most popular lakes in the world.
Mamay valley was opened for ski touring by locals skiers and snowboarders 20 years ago. On the past few years, it became a perfect spot for tourists who are looking for winter sport adventures.
During this ski touring program, we will enjoy skiing in powder snow, the breathtaking views of Baikal and the majestic Siberian winter. We will explore different local mountains, from 2 to 5 ascents and descents per day. You should be physically fit and have ski touring experience in ascents and powder skiing.
I advise you to come one day before the starting of our program to have a good rest. Also, don’t forget there is an 8-hour difference between Europe and Irkutsk. I will help you to book the hotel and transfer.

Meeting point
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive to Irkutsk. Towards the hut.
Night flight from Moscow to Irkutsk. You will arrive at Irkutsk in the morning. I will meet you at the airport. Тransfer to Vydrino (200 km). On the way, we will stop on the observation point near Lake Baikal and go to cafe Heart of Mamay. After lunch, our luggage will be taken by snowmobiles and we will ski to Mamay valley for 8 kilometers.
Day 2 to 6: Ski touring days
Breakfast. Ski-tour in different spots of Mamay valley. Noon lunch. Evening rest. Dinner. Sauna (by request).
Day 7: Ski-touring in the morning. Transfer to Irkutsk.
Breakfast. 3-4 hours ski-touring. Lunch in the hut. Skiing down 8 kilometers to the same place, cafe Heart of Mamay. Luggage will be taken by snowmobiles. Transfer to hotel in Irkutsk.
Day 8: End of the tour
City tour round Irkutsk (by request). Transfer to the airport, departure to Moscow.

Mountain Guide
Mountains and work in the mountains are major part of my life. I am an IFMGA mountain guide as well as a member of the Kyrgyzstan Mountain Guides Association (KMGA). I started my career in 2006 and it was a logical extension of my mountaineering activities. I organize ascents, ski-touring and free ride programs for my clients in the Caucasus
(including Krasnaya Polyana), Pamir, Tien-Shan, Siberia, Ural, Kola Peninsula. I have climbing experience in the Alps, Alaska and the Chinese Pamirs.
I am a certified mountain rescuer. My priorities are the client's safety along with the success of the ascent.
