Description

Do you want to ski in a place that is as remote as it is breathtaking? Then join me on this incredible adventure in the Norwegiean Arctic. Come and enjoy a number of fantastic descents on Spitsbergen in the Svalbard archipelago.

If ski touring in the Norwegian Arctic wasn’t amazing enough, on this 12 day trip you will get to do it while spending your time on a beautiful boat. Comfortable, with great food and accommodations, another great advantage of spending your time on a boat is that it will take you to the best spots in Spitsbergen. As a result, there is no limit to the mount of untouched slopes you can enjoy on a number of different peaks.

There is no set itinerary on this trip. Instead, while on the boat, we will factor in weather and snow conditions, as well your skill level and preferences, and choose the best spots for you. And while the spots will differ wildly, what they will all have in common is amazing descents, memorable coastal views and immersion in the remote beauty of the Arctic circle.

In order to participate on this trip, you should be in good physical condition. Furthermore, because of the wild nature of the slopes and landscape, you should have prior ski touring experience as well.

Itinerary

Day 1: Paris - Longyearbyen - Boat

After arriving to Longyearbyen from Paris, we will board the boat and set out.

Day 2 to 10: Ski touring at various fjords

Over the next 9 days, we will stop at various spots, where you can enjoy numerous fantastic ascents, while spending the nights in the comforts of the boat.

Day 11 to 12: Fly back to Paris from Longyearbyen

After some final descents near Longyearbyen, you will catch your flight back to Paris.

Participants should bring the following items with them: Skis, poles, skins, ski boots, crampons, 2-3 pairs of socks, goretex, waterproof pants, 2-3 breathable t-shirts, 1 fleece jacket and waterproof jacket, 1 hat, 1 pair of thermal gloves, 1 pair of fleece gloves, thermos, blanket, head lamp with new batteries, glasses, sun screen, lip balm, personal items and a camera.

Paris airport, where we will fly to Longyearbyen.

Mountain Guide

I have been a mountain guide since I was 25 years old. My passion for discovering the mountains of the world has led me to the four corners of the earth. Currently, I am also an instructor at the National School of Skiing and Mountaineering (ENSA).

Each year, I organize different trips. I'm in charge of each trip's organization and I'm sometimes also the guide who leads the group. It could either be me or one of my 4 guide friends, who I have been working with for years.

I have been organizing trips around the world for the past 26 years: Alaska, Antractica, Nepal, Mongolia...Over the years, I have organized trips in more than 30 countries.

In recent years I have had the opportunity to discover:
- Ski traverse in Greenland
- Ski touring in Iran, Lebanon, Mongolia, Argentina, Canada
- Climbing in the Yukon at the Lotus Flower, Jordan, Oman
- The high summits of Sichuan, Kula Kangri in Tibet, Langtang Ri in Nepal

I am currently based in Chamonix and the other 3 guides who work with me live nearby as well.
