Description

Would you like to enjoy a thrilling alpine adventure in South America? Then come to Chile for a ski touring trip in the Central Andes. We can explore four different areas: Cajon del Maipo, Cerro Plomo, Portillo, Juncal Valley!

With easy access from Santiago, the Central Andes offer thousands of hectares of skiable terrain. People from all over the world come to this part of the world to explore beautiful glaciers, steep couloirs, and stunning powder slopes.

On this ski touring outing, we can discover four regions of the Central Andes. Furthermore, you can join me for several days and explore more than just one of them. These are our options:

  • Cajon del Maipo: With altitudes ranging from 2,500 to 4,500m., here we will find an awesome terrain with light and dry powder.

  • Cerro Plomo: This 5,434m. mountain has abundant snow even in spring, and offers breathtaking views of the Andes and its stunning valleys.

  • Portillo: From this world renowned ski resort we can easily reach awesome side-country areas with fresh powder and steep slopes.

  • Juncal Valley: Lying at the foot of Nevado Juncal and its fabulous glacier, this spot is perfect for skiing on different types of terrains.

Please keep in mind that this outing requires some ski touring experience and a good fitness level: we will climb carrying our skis to reach deep powder spots. Of course, I will be there every step of the way to help and guide you.

So if you are up for this amazing ski touring adventure in Chile, please get in touch with me. Let’s enjoy the fresh powder and the panoramic views of the Central Andes!

I have many different winter trips in this same country. Check out, for example, my Guided ski tour in Villarrica, Lonquimay and Llaima.

Mountain Guide

IFMGA/UIAGM Mountain Guide from Chile

I was born in 1987, and since I was young I’ve been around the mountains, and for the past 12 years I’ve been practicing all mountain disciplines.

Some highlights of my climbing career: First Chilean to Cerro Torre via Ragni, first Torres del Paine alpine style traverse, and many other first ascents.

I did the IFMGA/UIAGM aspirant course in Bolivia in 2016, and recently got my full IFMGA certification in April 2018. I have also AIARE level 2 training.

Come and discover the mountains of Chile, a wonderful country, where we will have a unique experience together with a professional guide, in a truly unforgettable trip, it will be a pleasure to be able to guide you through some of the mountains of my country in your next vacations, i am sure will be the first of many adventures that we will enjoy together in the mountains of the Andes.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
