On this incredible trip that can stretch to a maximum of 2 days, you will have a chance to ice climb on some truly amazing peaks and valleys. The ice climbing options include Sassolungo (3,181m), also known as Langkofel, and the Val di Fassa.
As a result of the variety of areas available on this trip, this adventure will depend on what you choose, and your skill level. Both of these places are unique and offer an equally unique experience.
For example, the Val di Fassa is a beautiful valley that offers views of gorgeous scenery and the Dolomite mountains. The ice climbing within the Val di Fassa is exceptional, and can be as difficult or as easy you want it to be. Meanwhile, Sassolungo is a more difficult peak, and as a result, offers more challenging ice climbing as well.
You will also have a chance to see and scale Goulottes. These are lines of ice that creep into the mountain crevices in the winter. They are beautiful to see in the afternoon as they reflect the sunlight. Some key areas where you can see and climb them include Goulotte Mistica, Goulotte Clean Gully, Goulotte Raggio di Sole, and the Goulotte Holzknecht.
All in all, this trip a wonderfully accessible adventure because it can cater to the expert and beginner alike. But keep in mind that whichever option you choose, I can't say enough how spectacular the views you will get to enjoy will be. I also think you will be interested to know that the areas I will take you through are quite empty because not many people go to the Goulottes. Thus giving you a peaceful and quiet ice climbing experience.
Please send me a request if you want me to guide you on an amazing ice climbing adventure. And let me take you through some of the best areas of the Italian Alps, from Sassolungo to the Val di Fassa.
I can also offer you a day of ice climbing in Sottoguda in the Dolomites.

Mountain Guide
I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.
Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.
My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).
Feel free to get in touch with me if you are coming in the Dolomites for skiing (alpine, freeride and ski touring), rock climbing, sport climbing and multi pitch climbing. It will be my pleasure to guide you here and let you discover my secret spots.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
