Description

An absolutely gorgeous and legendary mountain range, the Picos de Europa are home to some of the best rock climbing spots not just in Spain, but in all of Europe.

Located in the Cantabrian Mountains, the Picos de Europa offer some amazing views and a long list of spectacular rock climbing routes. And, during this level 1 climbing trip, you will get to choose from several of the best routes in the range. Furthermore, this trip can last for one or more days. So, if you want to climb more than one, or even all of the possible routes, just let me know.

Some of the routes you can choose from include the following.

  • Needle Ostaikoetxea – Udaondo Urones – IV, 150 meter length

  • Divertimento and Alfonosada Route – V+, 280 meter length

  • Torresalinas – Via Cassiopea – V+, 380 meter length plus 120 meter crest edge

All of the routes are unique in the views they offer as well as the experience they provide. They also take varying times to complete, from 1 hour to 7 hours. As a result of the diversity of the routes, we will pick the best ones for you based on your skill level and personal preference.

It is important that participants on this trip are in good physical condition.

Price details

The price for the Needle Ostaikoetxea route is 250 Euros for 1 person and 170 per person for a group of 2 people.

The price for the Divertimento and Alfonsada route is 300 Euros for 1 person and 200 Euros per person for a group of 2 people.

The price for Torresalinas via Cassiopea route is 350 Euros for 1 person and 250 Euros per person for a group of 2 people.

Rock Guide

Hello! My name is Pablo. I was born in Cantabria (northern Spain) in 1984.
I'm alpinist, nature and a lover of my home, el Valle de Liébana. I work as a local guide in Picos de Europa National Park, the first National Park of Spain. I do organize adventure trips and several-day expeditions combining hiking and climbings. After ten years working in these lands as a guide, I set out my own mountain guide service company, Liébana Aventura. I try to keep a close relationship with my clients and share my knowledge, love and respect for this very rugged and at the same time beautiful environment. My certifications are: Sports technician II in mountain, climbing and cannyoning / Member of the Spanish Association of Mountain Guides No. 1107.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area.
