Description

Leave the city behind for a day of incredible rock climbing just outside of San Diego! I have courses for every level at Mt. Woodson that will get you pumped to spend some time out in the natural beauty of California!

Roughly 30 miles outside the city of San Diego, Mt. Woodson is home to some of the region´s best climbing routes. It is one of my favorite spots because of the rock slabs that are loaded with cracks, which make it a popular destination for every type of climber.

With over 400 different paths up the mountain, we are likely able to find one that fits you perfectly. And once you reach the summit, a 1,200-meter climb up a paved road, the epic climbs with outstanding views will show you why this is such a remarkable location.

The east side of the mountain is where most of the paths are. We can take you on early morning climbs to beat the summer heat and take in the stunning California landscape below.

We have great routes for everyone, from those just starting to take on the mountains to the seasoned veterans looking for the next thrill. Woodson never disappoints, and we will make sure you find just what you are looking for.

While we have courses for every level and skill, any climbing experience is always an asset. You should be in pretty good shape to take this program, and some of the climbs require advanced skills.

I am the founder of Golden State Guiding and an AMGA Single Pitch Instructor.

I have been climbing all over California for over 10 years from Joshua Tree and the High Sierra and from Yosemite to Owen's River Gorge. I enjoy climbing in all its forms but alpine starts, long approaches and high elevation gains are my favorite. The grueling days and long routes of the Sierras are where my heart lies.

At Golden State Guiding, we hold a valid permit to guide you legally in California´s Sierras. Golden State Guiding has only professional Guides trained by the AMGA who know all the ins and outs in these mountains and we´ll take you to all the best spots!
