Description

Want to live a real mountain expedition in the heart of the Himalayas? So you have to join me on this 35-day trip. It's a unique opportunity to discover all that the Mahalangur sub-range has for mountaineers.

During this amazing program I will guide you to the summit of the Pumori Peak (7161 m). It is a mountain located on the border between Nepal and Tibet. It stands out 8 kilometers west of Mount Everest. In fact some alpinists call it "The Everest's Daughter".

In addition, Mount Pumori is the most popular mountain over 7000 meters in Nepal. Once at its summit you won't believe such a stunning landscape. It offers the best views of Lhotse, Mount Everest, Nuptse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho Oyu, and many others, since we will climb it from the southeast ridge.

Our starting point will be Lukla, where we'll go by plane from Kathmandu. Once in Lukla we will do an acclimatization hike to Lobuche via Tengboche and Pheriche. The ascent expedition to Mount Pumori starts on day 12 and takes about 16 days. Finally, we'll return to Kathmandu by day 35, where this fantastic trip ends.

As for the technical and physical level, Pumori is one of the "less physically demanding" 7000-meter peaks in Nepal. However, it requires a serious mountaineering technical knowledge. The normal route is from south east, but we organize it from south west to avoid the avalanche risk.

For expert climbers it is usually the starting point to other high altitude challenges such as the Makalu summit guided ascent that I also offer.

So, if you want to come with me to this Himalayan adventure please fill out the form and start the reservation process. It'll be my pleasure to guide you there!!

Mountain Guide

I have been climbing since 1996, starting on the 8000m mountains in the Himalaya. I'm one of the few IFMGA/NNMGA certified mountain guides (Instructor) from south Asia, gaining my qualification from the New Zealand Mountain Guides Association (NZMGA) & Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA).
I have successfully guided on Mt Everest on multiple occasions, and other 8000m peaks such as Mt Cho-oyu (8,201m) (3 times), Sisha Pangma (8,013m), Mt. Manaslu (8,163m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Mt. Makalu (8,463m), Mt. Lhotse (8,515m) and many more.
I have have also a strong international climbing experience and extensive knowledge of the logistics, planning and group dynamic that are also very crucial to successfully lead adventures in the Himalaya and around the world. I guided in New Zealand, Norway, France, Scotland, Thailand, Bhutan, Pakistan, India and Tibet.
I'm also a rescue expert and a technical trainer for the mountain guides training.
I very much like guiding my clients in remote places, where no tourist goes. I like also discovering new routes and peaks. Please have a look to the different trekking and mountaineering expeditions I propose and contact me if you want to discuss about them. I can of course also guide you in more 'classic' routes, just get in touch with me and let's talk about your wishes!

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
