Description

The Posets peak (3,371m) is the second highest peak in the entire Pyrenees. It is a remarkable mountain, and one that is well worth climbing.

The ascent and subsequent descent of the Posets peak can be done in a single day. However, if you would like to stretch out the experience, all you have to do is let me know and I will gladly accommodate you.

The beginning of the trip will involve a comfortable and scenic hike. During the hike you will get to visit and admire the Espigantosa waterfall. From there, we will make our way up to the Angel Orus hut (2,095m). From the hut we will follow a trail that crosses a lovely stream and enters into a usually snow filled valley. Within the valley we may have to use crampons as we make our way up to the foot of the Llardana tooth. After that, we will trek upwards for approximately 4 more hours to the Posets summit. After you’ve enjoyed the gorgeous views, we will descend back down to the hut. The descent should take approximately 3 hours.

The ascent of the Posets peak is not a very technical one. However, participants should be in good physical condition, as the terrain does shift during the climb.
