A great 2-day hiking program across the Poincenot and Laguna Torre trails. Merlín, a IFMGA certified mountain guide from El Chaltén, will lead this unforgettable expedition.

It's my pleasure to offer you this unique 2-day trekking expedition across the Poincenot camp and the Laguna Torre, two jewels of the area. The Poincenot is one of the most traveled trails in El Chaltén. That is because of its beautiful landscapes with the Mount Fitz Roy as background.
On the other hand, the Laguna Torre is a lake of the Los Glaciares National Park, very close to El Chaltén as well. Its waters are the result of the glacial melt. It's another chosen place among hikers from all around the world.
The itinerary of this great 2-day hiking tour in Poincenot and Laguna Torre starts in El Chaltén. A transfer will take us to the Hostería El Pilar. Here we must walk up the Rio Blanco Valley, passing by the Piedras Blancas Glacier's viewpoint.
We will then reach the famous Poincenot camp, from where we will continue a steep ascent to the Laguna de los Tres. After having lunch there, we will return to the Poincenot campsite, where we'll spend the first night.
As for our second day, we'll enjoy the most incredible views of the Fitz Roy during the sunrise in the Poincenot campsite. Then, we'll have breakfast and start hiking to the Laguna Torre passing by the "Madre and Hija" lagoons. This hike will take about 3 hours. If the weather conditions are good we can continue to the Maestri viewpoint from where we will admire the amazing Glacier Grande and the Cerro Torre.
Finally, we will walk back to El Chaltén across the Laguna Torre trail for around 6 to 8 hours.
I can lead a group from 2 up to 12 guests. All participants must have a good fitness level. The best period to enjoy this trek is from October to April.
And if you love hiking adventures but you have only one day left in El Chaltén, you should check out my full day trek in Loma de las Pizarras. It's a trip you won't forget in your life.
So, contact me for more details or to start with the reservation process. We'll talk about your wishes and I will make them true in El Chaltén!

Mountain Guide
Certified UIAGM-IFMGA Mountain Guide from Argentina.
I live in El Chaltén since 1998. I'm originally from Bariloche and I started with mountain activities when I was 15 years old. I've done climbing and ascents in many mountains of Patagonia, Perú, Bolivia, United States and Europe; such as Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre, Alpamayo, El Capitán, Mont Blanc and Aconcagua among others. I'm also a Ski Instructor and I am passionate for backcountry ski.
I speak fluent English, Italian and French and have been leading trips and expeditions for more than 20 years. I work together with a group of guides, so if I'm not available for the trip you request, one of my colleagues will guide you!
