Description

Multi-pitch rock climbing is a fun, thrilling experience. And on this day trip, one of our professional guides would like to take you multi-pitch rock climbing on one of many different areas in the Piedmont mountains in North Carolina.

Part of the famed Appalachian mountains, the Piedmont mountains have an abundance of great rock climbing spots. And depending on your physical condition and climbing level, we will find the ideal spot for you. And once you start climbing, you will not only get to enjoy the physical joy of multi-pitch climbing, but also the beautiful scenery of the area.

There will also be an educational aspect to this trip as we will try to teach you as much about proper climbing as possible. Some items that will be covered during the climb include traditional gear placement and removal, hanging belays and technical movements. We will continuously offer advice and tips that will aid you in your climb, as well as future climbs. Hence making you a better and safer rock climber.

Just a few examples of the different spots that can be found in the Piedmont mountains include the following.

  • Shiprock

  • Table rock

  • Hawksbill

  • Stone Mountain state park

  • Linville Gorge

  • The North Carolina wall

  • The Amphitheater

  • Looking Glass Rock

The routes on these various spot range from 150 to 600 feet.

Participants should bring the following items with them: small day pack, 2 or 3 quarts of water, lunch and snacks, rain jacket, jacket, sneakers or lightweight hiking boots, loose fitting or stretchy pants, not blue jeans, gloves, outer shell for wind breaker, sunglasses, sun screen, camera and insect repellent.
