Description

Conquer one of Spain’s most iconic peaks with this private guided climb of Picu Urriellu, also called Naranjo de Bulnes!

This limestone peak, part of the Picos de Europa located in the province of Asturias, Northern Spain, is legendary among climbers.  It may not be the highest mountain of the Cantabrian mountain range, but sending the sheer faces of this imposing mountain is something climbers from all over the world aspire to achieve.  Not to mention, the prehistoric glacier valley which unfolds at its base is truly a stunning setting for our adventure.

There are a variety of different routes we can send on the four faces of Picu Urriellu.  Because I will be guiding you in private (maximum of 2 participants), we will choose the program that best suites your abilities and interests. Maximize your time on this magical mountain: we can explore the mountain over the course of one or more days – it’s up to you!

Book now and I guarantee a challenging yet rewarding climb on a classic Spanish mountain – Picu Uriello, also known as Naranjo de Bulnes!

Check out the other climbing trips I offer in some of the best climbing spots in Spain: Rock climbing in Peñón de Ifach, Spain, One or more rock climbing days in the Galayos (Gredos), or 4-day rock climbing trip in Sierra de Guadarrama!

Mountain Guide

Sports Technician in climbing, Specialist in Guidance and Accompaniment with Disabled in Mountain, Operator of camera in mountain and climbing, member of the Spanish Association of Mountain Guides (AEGM),

I live in Madrid, where there is an infinite number of possibilities to climb throughout the year, such as the Sierra de Guadarrama or its neighboring Sierra de Gredos, among others. In summer I am between the Picos de Europa, the Pyrenees and the Alps.

I am passionate about mountains since I was very small, always dreaming of climbing them. The years go by and instead of dying out these dreams, they increase exponentially. Always looking for the next mountain, the next climb, the next way to go ...

Thanks to this profession of guide, I can transmit to my clients my great passion for the mountains, the feelings and emotions that we have when climbing, the happiness that invades you when crowning that desired summit.

One of the activities that enriches me the most in my work is to be able to guide people with disabilities through the mountain, either by a simple path or by a vertical rock wall.

I also combine it with my other great passion, which is the camera, making mountain documentaries and working for different television programs.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
