2 days above Chamonix, in the Mont Blanc Massif, to learn mountain photography techniques and take home unforgettable memories, with Thomas, UIAGM guide.

2 Days

All year

Description

I invite you to come with me for two days in search of the best shots to be taken in the Mont Blanc above Chamonix (France) and Courmayeur (Italy).

Two days during which I will have the opportunity to share with you my experience and passion for the mountains, as a guide and photographer. We spend a night uphill, in a refuge, so we can be in the best locations at the sunset and sunrise, and enjoy a beautiful mountain experience together.

The Mont Blanc massif is ideal for this event dedicated to photographers because…

-From there we can see some of the most beautiful mountains of the Alps;

-From there we have access to different locations, which gives us flexibility depending on weather and light conditions;

-There are several huts and therefore different possibilities;

-Nearby we can find Chamonix, a world capital of mountaineering where a particularly convivial atmosphere reigns.

Depending on participants’ level, we will advance in high or medium mountain. We can go:

-To Aiguille du Midi and take the emblematic images on its and Mont Blanc’s edge;

-The side of Albert 1st hut to witness the beautiful lights of the Chardonnet, the Aiguille Verte, Les Drus, La Petite Fourche, etc as well as having the possibility of taking pictures of crevasses and seracs…and all that, 2 hours of walking from the top of the ski lift of the Tour;

-The side of Argentière refuge, to admire the beautiful north faces of the massif (La Verte, Le Triolet, Les Drus, Les Droites, Les Courtes, etc.);

-The side of Couvercle hut to capture the Grandes Jorasses filled with mythical stories of climbers of the past century;

-The side of Torino refuge from the Point Helbronner, onto Courmayeur;

-The side of Lac Blanc in the Aiguilles Rouges; opposite to the massif of Mont Blanc, to catch the best views thereon;

-Etc.

I will bring with me my computer, which we can use in the evening to present the pictures of the day and discuss areas of improvement. I take advantage of this moment to remind the basic principles of mountain photography.

I will make groups of 4 to 6 guests maximum, depending on the difficulty level of the route we choose together. I can add to this tour, which is oriented to photography, a reminder/learning of the basic techniques of alpinism: use of climbing ropes, walking with crampons, use of ice pick, making of main nodes…

I also offer this type of course in the Ecrins Massif.

I invite you to contact me if you are interested in coming to capture together some beautiful pictures in the heart of some of the most beautiful mountains in the world. It would be a great pleasure to take you up there and share with you a unique moment.

    Mountain Leader

    UIAGM / IFMGA High Mountain Guide
    I come from the Hautes-Alpes and I have been immersed in the alpine world since I was young. I turned my sportive and artistic passions into a nice dream... to live and share it.
    I've practiced all kind of mountain disciplines for more than 15 years, and today I am a passionate high mountain guide and photographer.
    I started off climbing, and throughout my outings and meetings I discovered the universe of the high mountain, the beautiful world present up there.
    I have improved my climbing, ski and alpinism skills to become an aspiring high mountain guide in 2010. I have also been a member of the National Male Alpinism Team (ENAM) of the National Mountain and Climbing Federation (FFME) 2009-2012.
    With all the experience I gained in the Alps and through different travels around the world (USA, Alaska, China, Australia...), today I transmit and share my passion by taking you on my rope, in a climbing outing, a ski trip or on a beautiful alpine edge!

    Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

    Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

    We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

    Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
