Description

With a mountain range as beautiful as the Dolomites in Italy, it is the goal of anybody visiting it to see as much of it as possible. It is also a goal to get the best view of it possible as well. And on this day trip, you will have an excellent chance of achieving both goals at the same time. The reason for that is you will get to admire the Dolomites from the Oskar Schuster Via Ferrata.

Enjoying the Oskar Schuster via ferrata, like all via ferratas, is a thrilling experience. It is exciting, not just for the spectacular views you will get, but also for the physical experience as well.

The trip will begin at the parking lot at the bottom of the Sassolungo gondola lift. From there, we can either take the gondola, or walk to the Toni Demetz Hut on the Langkofel pass. From there, we will make our way down to the Langkofel hut. After that we will walk to the Oskar Schuster via ferrata.

Regarding the via ferrata itself, it consists of 70% steel cable, a short ladder, some iron bars, and 30% scrambling. For some people that may sound intimidating. However, let me assure you that this specific via ferrata is quite easy. Thus making it a perfect adventure for beginners who are looking for some excitement, as well as a great view of the Dolomites!

So if you want to spend a day in the Dolomites in a way you might have never tried before, allow me to suggest the Oskar Schuster via ferrata. It is great fun, and exciting to boot. So if that sounds like something you would be interested in, just send me a request. I would be happy to guide you.

I can also guide you on this 1 day via ferrata at the Marmolada in the Dolomites as well.

Mountain Guide

I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.

Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.

My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).

Feel free to get in touch with me if you are coming in the Dolomites for skiing (alpine, freeride and ski touring), rock climbing, sport climbing and multi pitch climbing. It will be my pleasure to guide you here and let you discover my secret spots.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
