'Omote Ginza' (which means 'Main street') is an extremely popular hiking route in Japan. Come with me and discover incredible panoramic views!
The North Japan Alps (also known as Hida mountains) boasts some of the most spectacular sceneries in Japan. On this 3-day hiking trip, we will traverse around some popular peaks in Nagano Prefecture.
Our starting point will be Nakabusa Onsen (hot spring). From there, we'll hike for almost 6 hours to Enzanso Hut, where we'll stay for the night. This is one of the oldest mountain huts in the country (built in 1921) and it's on a number 1 position in the ranking for a ‘mountain hut you want to stay in Japan’.
At a short distance from this mountain hut, we will find Mount Tsubakuro (2763 m).
The following day we'll traverse to Hutte Oyari, along the way, we'll go through some rocky sections and enjoy 360-degree views of the Hodaka mountain range. Finally, on the last day, we will climb Mount Yari (3180 m, which is called the Japanese Matterhorn, due to its similar shape), and descend to Kamikochi.
I also offer other routes in this mountain range, in case you are looking for a more relaxed hiking itinerary or want to see different places.

Mountain Guide
I am a Mt Fuji guide and a backcountry ski guide, certified by the JMGA. I was born in Tokyo but currently live in Fuji-Yoshida city, located at the foot of Mt Fuji. Teaching was something that interested me since my school years, and thus chose to join a specialized college for coaching, instructorship, and sports biology, where I also started climbing and skiing in the mountains. After my graduation, I worked as a ski patrol for 10 years, 5 of which I worked through the year - Hakuba in the winter (of northern hemisphere) and in Methven, New Zealand in the summer (of northern hemisphere), and a backcountry ski guide for 10 years.
My main and favourite field of guiding is on and around Mt Fuji, but backcountry skiing is my favourite mountain sports! I guide backcountry skiing mainly around Hakuba areas but also have been a guide in Hokkaido for 2 years, and know Furano and Niseko areas very well. I also currently teach Japan Avalanche Network level 1 courses on avalanche risks and safety. I also enjoy rock climbing in my free time and love to share with you the beauty of the Japanese mountains through my favourite guiding routes, let it to be in trekking the mountains, snowshoeing with an onsen stay or backcountry skiing in Hakuba areas!
For me, mountains are a part of my life. It teaches me upsides and downsides of life, and I want guests to join me in this environment to realize the conveniences that surround us in our ordinary life and to be grateful of everything that lets us live.
I guide visitors from abroad quite frequently. Contact me if you’re also up for fun mountain adventures!!

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
