Would you like to try one of Nepal’s classic treks and discover the breathtaking landscapes and mountain culture of the Himalayas? Then join this unique 8-day Annapurna Base Camp trek and discover the charm of one of the world’s most important locations for mountaineering.

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a Nepal classic and is perfect for participants with little mountaineering experience who wish to immerse themselves in the Himalayas. Rhododendron and bamboo forests, amazing monasteries and cultural landmarks, as well as breathtaking views of the region’s towering peaks,  are all part of the charm of this trekking experience.

We will begin our 8-day adventure from Kathmandu, a wonderful city that will amaze you. From there, we will set off to Pokhara and drive to Sewai, where we will begin our trek. On the way to Annapurna Base Camp, we will pass Gurung villages and experience and local Nepali culture. Furthermore, we will also enjoy visiting the Phewa Lake, several caves, and recovering in a hot-spring bath.

This 8-day trek is open to all kinds of participants. However, do keep in mind that you will need a good fitness level as we will spend many hours walking in the mountains. Of course, we will be happy to help and guide you on the way.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival day in Kathmandu [1,350m/4,264 ft]

Day 2: Fly to Pokhara, Drive to Sewai , trek to Chomrong (1940m/6360 ft): 5 - 6 hours trek

Day 3: Himalaya Trek. 5 - 6 hours. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Day 04: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m): 5- 6 hours.

Day 5: Day 05: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2,335m)

Day 6: Bamboo to Jhinudadada and Mudkhu then drive to Pokhara: 4 hours trek, 3 hours' drive

Day 7: Morning Flight Back to Kathmandu

Day 8: Final Departure

 

Equipment you will need to bring

Head Bandana or head scarf, also useful for dusty conditions Warm hat that covers your ears (wool or synthetic) Headlamp with extra batteries and bulbs Sunglasses with UV protection Prescription sunglasses (if required) Upper Body Polypropylene shirts (1 half sleeve and 2 long sleeves) Light and expedition weight thermal tops Fleece wind-stopper jacket or pullover Waterproof (preferably breathable fabric) shell jacket Down vest and/or jacket * Gore-Tex jacket with hood, waterproof and breathable Hands 1 pair of lightweight poly-liner gloves. 1 pair of lightweight wool or fleece gloves 1 pair of mittens, consists of 1 Gore-Tex over mitt matched with a very warm polar-fleece mitt liner (seasonal) Lower Body Non-cotton underwear briefs 1 pair of Hiking shorts 1 pair of Hiking trousers 1 pair of lightweight thermal bottoms (seasonal) 1 pair of fleece or woolen trousers 1 pair of waterproof shell pants, breathable fabric Feet 2 pairs of thin, lightweight inner socks 2 pairs of heavy poly or wool socks 1 pair of Hiking boots with spare laces (sturdy soles, water resistant, ankle support, “broken in”) 1 pair of trainers or running shoes and/or sandals Cotton socks (optional) Gaiters (winter only), optional, “low” ankle high version Sleeping 1 sleeping bag (Scenic Nepal Treks will provide you) Fleece sleeping bag liner (optional) Rucksack and Travel Bags 1 medium rucksack (50-70 liters/3000-4500 cubic inches, can be used for an airplane carryon) 1 large duffel bag ( Scenic Nepal Treks will Provide you) A small daypack/backpack for carrying your valuables, should have good shoulder padding Small padlocks for duffel-kit bags 2 large waterproof rucksack covers (optional) Medical Small, personal first-aid kit. Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me!
