Description

This Narvik ski touring week is ski touring the way it should be! Indeed, if you’re looking to experience genuine mountain culture in the middle of Scandinavia’s best ski touring area, this is the program for you!

We will be staying at Trollviken Lodge by the Ofotfjord in Norway. My partner and I own and operate it.

From the lodge, hundreds of amazing ski touring summits are within reach. We’ll ski down some amazing slopes that run all the way down to the sea. Furthermore, you won’t find the crowds of neighbouring areas like Lofoten or Lyngen! Thus, it will be your own private paradise!

From the lodge, we’ll discover a different summit every day. In the evening, we’ll go for a sauna and also a swim in the fjord right before dinner. Then, we enjoy a good meal and sleep comfortably to the waves’ smooth rhythm. On the other side of the fjord, we’ll appreciate the Narvik lights reflecting on the water.

The lodge is strategically located on the north side of Ofotfjord. It is only 30 minutes from Evenes (Narvik Airport).

Join me on this incredible Narvik ski touring week. It is an experience no ski touring fan should miss out on. So contact me now!

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

Arrival day. We pick you up at the airport. The easiest is to fly to Evenes airport (also called Harstad / Narvik Airport).Drive to Trollviken in half an hour. We go through the equipment, talk about avalanche safety and do some avalanche training.

Day 2: Spanstind

Drive to our “home mountain” Spanstind. I has a great view of the fjord from the summit and offers many opportunities to ski down. Spanstind is 1,460 meters above sea level. We ‘ll be home in time for a sauna before dinner.

Day 3: Tjeldsundet

We drive a little further out towards Tjeldsundet and climb Strandtinden. Wonderful views out to the Vest Fjord and really good snow.

Day 4: Rombackstötta

This day is more challenging. Today we go to Rombackstötta across the fjord. The skiing down is often on fine powder.

Day 5: Gratangen

Climbing and skiing at one of our favorite spots: in Gratangen. We start in the nice village Foldvik and climb up Nonsfjellet.

Day 6: Novafjellet

A long day but we are rewarded with views in all directions! Looking north towards Andröja, Rolla and Senja. To the west, we see the Lofoten Islands and Vestervålen.

Day 7: Narvikfjellet

Today we drive to the best Nordic ski mountain with lift – Narvikfjellet. 3000 vertical meters with downhill skiing in wonderful terrain.

Day 8: Return flight

Transfer to the airport for return flight

Mountain Guide

I have climbed and skied all my life but started working as a guide in 2009. I became a fully-qualified IFMGA guide in 2012. I'm based in Herjangen (just north of Narvik in Ofoten, Nordland, Norway) and have been skiing in this area for over two decades. I guide all over the world but prefer to be home in Trollviken! My goal is to share my knowledge and my love for these mountains to increase your skills. I used to be an investment banking executive but I'm a lot better now!

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
