Description
Reaching the summit of the giant Mount Everest (8848 m) is the greatest mountaineering challenge in the world. Located in the border of Nepal and Tibet, it is possible to climb it from both sides. This time, I invite you to a fascinating Mount Everest north side expedition, starting from the Chinese territory of Tibet.
The main climbing routes to attempt Mount Everest are the southeast ridge from Nepal, and the north ridge from Tibet.
Tibet was closed to foreign expeditions in 1950 and was reopened in 1980. Since then, it has become a very popular climbing route, with a wide range of opportunities for climbers.
Mount Everest north side route follows the Rongbuk Glacier system, which flows around the North Peak of Everest, also known as Changtse.
It is a safe climbing route, as it avoids Khumbu Icefall, one of the most dangerous stages in the south side of the mountain. It is also cheaper than climbing Everest from Nepal.
However, the north side is technically challenging because there’s more exposed rocks and camps are at a very high altitude.

Day 1: Arrive at Kathmandu (capital city of Nepal)
Transfer to a hotel.
Day 2: Kathmandu
Briefing and shopping.
Day 3: Kathmandu.
Day 4: Zangmu
Drive from Kathmandu to Zangmu (2350m). Overnight in hotel.
Day 5: Nyalam
Drive from Zangmu to Nyalam (3750m). Overnight in hotel.
Day 6: Nyalam
Acclimatization day.
Day 7: Shekar
Drive from Nyalam to Shekar (4250m). Overnight in hotel.
Day 8: Shekar
Acclimatization day.
Day 9: Everest base camp
Drive to Base Camp (5200m).
Day 10: to 12. Base camp
Day 13: Intermediate camp
From base camp to intermediate camp (6200m).
Day 14: Advanced Base camp
From intermediate camp to Advanced Base camp (6500m).
Day 15: to 53. Climbing period.
Day 54: Advanced Base Camp.
Return to Advanced Base Camp.
Day 55: Base Camp
Return to Base Camp.
Day 56: Base Camp
Cleaning Base Camp.

Drive from Base Camp to Nyalam.

-A 50 kg load per person is carried by Yak from Base Camp to ABC. -A 40 kg load per person is carried by Yak on the way back from ABC to BC. -ABC - There is oxygen for emergency, but you must pay for its use.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area.
