Description

New, modern and incredibly comfortable, spending a night in the Monte Rosa hut (2,883m) is a wonderful experience.

One of, if not the most modern mountain huts in not just the Alps, but in the entire world, just visiting the Monte Rosa hut is an amazing experience. However, on this 2 day trek, the hut is but one aspect of the adventure.

Beginning in the beautiful resort town of Zermatt, which you will get plenty of time to explore and enjoy, we will then make our way to the Gornergrat station. From the station, we will take a scenic ride on the famed Gornergrat train up to Rotenboden. After you’ve enjoyed some great views of Rotenboden, we will hike between 3 and 4 hours to the Monte Rosa hut. Each hour will see you ascending approximately 300 meters. We will also traverse the amazing Gorner glacier.

Once we reach the hut, you will get ample time to gaze out at the beauty of the Alps. You will get to see many of the area’s greatest peaks, including the renowned Matterhorn. After a comfortable night’s sleep, and some delicious food, on the following morning, we will make our way back to Rotenboden and then Zermatt, which will conclude the adventure.

As a result of the trekking conditions, participants on this trip should be in good physical condition.

The price only includes the guiding fee. No additional services are included, including the cost of your stay in the hut. For every additional person there is an extra 100 CHF fee.

Mountaineering boots, climbing seat harness, telescope poles and crampons can be rented. Food can also be purchased in the hut.

Participants must bring the following items: 20 - 30 liter rucksack, mountaineering boots, climbing seat harness, crampons with front points adjusted, telescope poles, touring trousers, waterproof jacket, fleece jacket with hood, gloves, shirt, socks, warm hat, sun glasses, sun screen, lip balm, flask or water bottle, personal medication, food. It is important to pack light, as all participants have to carry their own items.
