Monte Rosa 9-day hike in the Alps | undefined

As a mountain lover and passionate about outdoor activities in the Alps, José has planned this 9-day hiking tour in Monte Rosa, the second highest massif of Western Europe. Don't miss the chance if you're coming to the Italian or Swiss Alps this summer.

9 Days

Description

I am happy to offer this trekking program in the Alps. It consists in a 9-day hike around the Monte Rosa massif. One of the most popular destinations for mountain lovers!

The Monte Rosa massif lies between Piedmont and the Aosta Valley in Italy and the Swiss canton of Valais. It is the largest massif of the Alps and hosts a large number of peaks of over 4,000 meters. The Monte Rosa is also the second highest massif in Western Europe, after the Mont Blanc.

The origin of its name is not in the pink color shown by the mountain at dawn or dusk. The term refers to the word “glacier” which in the patois language it’s spelled “rouja” or “roisa”.

Without doubt, the Monte Rosa is a great destination for hiking, mountain climbing and skiing trips. Not only for its amazing landscapes, but also for the wide network of huts the region offers.

This Monte Rosa tour consists in a cross-border trekking between Italy and Switzerland. In addition, I will take you through the impressive valleys of Zermatt and Saas Fee in Switzerland. We’ll approach the Aosta Valley (Italy) as well.

The landscape during this 9-day trek in Monte Rosa will surprise us with a multitude of peaks of more than 4,000 meters and spectacular glaciers. And as a coronation of such an amazing trip we’ll reach the Matterhorn, also known as Monte Cervino.

At the bottom of this description you will find more details about the itinerary of the program. That is a sample itinerary, any item can be adapted to your level and expectations.

For more information or if you want to book your place for next departures (July and August) please fill out the form. It will be my pleasure to guide you through the Italian and the Swiss Alps!

I'm a mountain lover since I went up to Mulhacén at the age of 14. Since then I've been to mountains all around the world, always looking for new challenges.

I like to share the love I feel for the mountains, and all what I learned out there during all these years.

Some of my credentials:

- Certified mountain guide for blind people (UNED foundation)
- Wilderness Guide (WGA, currently in process)
- Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA certified)
- Member of the Spanish Association of Mountain Guides (AEGM) and member of the Union of International Mountain Leaders Association (UIMLA)

Regarding my experience, I've done ascents and trekkings in the Alps, Pyrenees, Atlas range, Andes, Himalayas and Norway. I'm originally from Granada, in Andalucía, so I know in detail the region of Sierra Nevada.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
