Description

Spend two days in the heart of the Italian Alps on this hiking program around Lake Como, in the region of Lombardy. We’ll ascend two mountains in the Lugano Prealps: Monte Bregagno and Monte Grona. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to enjoy a natural excursion in the Alps!

The starting point of our hike will be the village of Breglia. On day 1, we’ll go for the summit of Monte Bregagno, at 2,107 meters of altitude, and then spend the night in a cozy mountain hut. On day 2, we’ll cross the church of S. Amate (1,643 meters) and ascend to the top of Monte Grona, at 1,736 meters. Afterwards, we’ll descend to Rifugio Menaggio (1,419 meters), where we’ll take a break and enjoy the fantastic views of Bellagio.

During the whole program, we’ll have the pleasure to contemplate outstanding sights of Lake Como and its surroundings.

As for the difficulty, keep in mind that the level of this hike is intermediate, so it’s important to be physically fit.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area.
