Description
The Mont Fallère tour is a circular trail that offers breathtaking views over the Gran Paradiso, the Matterhorn and the Mont Blanc.
This 3-day hike starts either from Saint-Oyen or Etroubles, in the Great Saint Bernard Valley, in the Aosta Valley. When we reach an alpine pasture, we continue our hike towards the Vertosan Pass and the Fenêtre Pass. Then we hike down to the Mont Fallere refuge.
We will go along the southern side of Mont Fallere during the second stage. We hike up to to Col de Metz and Punta Chaligne and then we godown to the Chaligne mountain hut, where we can stay overnight. From this point, the trail is flat, but then it starts to go down, taking us to the village of Étroubles and then to Saint-Oyen.
In reverse, the path is just as easy, and it takes us through the villages of Gignod, Aosta, Sarre and Saint-Pierre. Then, we continue our hikie along Avise, Saint-Rhémy-en-Bosses, Saint-Oyen and, finally, we reach the village of Étroubles, where we finish our tour.
During the hike, we will walk between 3.30 to a maximum of 7 hours a day. We will enjoy a great hike with spectacular views!
