Come and join me for an amazing 20-day trek to the top of the famous Mera Peak (6,476m) in Nepal.
Located in the Himalayas, Mera Peak is considered one of the highest permitted trekking peaks in Nepal. The view from the summit of this majestic peak is nothing short of incredible. You will be able to see at least five 8,000 meter plus peaks, including Cho Oyu (8,188m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,485m), Kangchenjunga (8,586m), and Mount Everest (8,848m). This makes this trek an absolute must for anybody wishing to see our planet's greatest peaks!
Over the course of this trek, you will pass through untouched forests and glacial lakes, walk through beautiful valleys and see the aforementioned peaks, as well as others such as Chamlang (7,321m). Every moment of every day will be an adventure all on its own.
When we finally reach the Mera Peak Base Camp, you will also have the chance to undergo a 3-day glacier course. We will go over several important items. We'll cover rope techniques, cramponing on ice, snow and ice anchorage, glacier exploration, crevasse rescue, and also climbing. All of these skills are very important for the climb ahead because we will be climbing through steep rock, snow and ice. Hence, this brief course is crucial to help you reach the summit safely.
So let me guide you on this breathtaking journey to one of the highest trekking peaks in the world. Let me guide you to a summit where you will get to see what can only be described as the Himalayas Trophy Case. Where Earth's greatest mountain peaks are displayed in all of their glory. Let me guide you to the top of the Mera Peak!
And if you think you are ready for the greatest challenge, join me on the ascent to the summit of the crown jewel of the Himalayas! Want to climb Mount Everest via the south route? Then join me here.

I'm alone, can I join a group?
There might be other climbers wanting to climb Mera Peak with our team at the same as you. However, each participant will have his/her own guide for the expedition. This is to maximize safety, but also to take into account the difference in terms of hiking/mountaineering experience of each climber. In any case, there won't be more than 8 participants for each Mera Peak Expedition that we organize.
When are you running your Mera Peak expeditions?
We usually organize 2 expeditions a year, one in October-November, and the other one in April-May. The departure date will depend on your availability and your logistics constraints.
Will Jyamchang Bhote be the one guiding?
Jyamchang Bhote is coordinating each expedition, but he is not necessarily the one who will guide you. You'll be guided by someone from Jyamchang's team, a fully certified or aspirant local NNMGA mountain guide.
What is included in the Mera Peak expedition's price?
The following items are included in the price:
What is NOT included in the Mera Peak expedition's price?
The following items are NOT included in the price:
Please note that in case of trip extension due to bad weather or natural disasters, we are not liable to provide compensation or cover any additional expenses you may incur.
Will I be mixed with other climbers?
There might be other participants in the same Mera Peak expedition, but you will have your own guide.
Will I need to bring technical equipment? Can I rent some there?
It is better if you bring your own personal technical equipment such as your harness, crampons, ice axe, helmet and mountaineering boots. However, if you don't bring them, you can rent them here.
Where is the meeting point?
We'll meet at the airport of Kathmandu, where we will pick you up (and drop you off after the expedition).
What is the procedure if I need to terminate the expedition and return to Kathmandu before the completion of the tour?
There may be situations where you need to terminate the expedition and return to Kathmandu due to various reasons such as illness, injury, personal circumstances, natural disasters, etc. Rest assured, we will ensure your safe return to Kathmandu and arrange transportation to the airport.
Please note that no refunds will be provided in such cases, as all the parties involved in planning the expedition (staff, guides, logistics, etc.) will have already been compensated by that point. We highly recommend purchasing cancellation insurance to mitigate any financial risks. Please also buy a mountain rescue insurance, which will cover you in case you need to be transported by to Kathmandu by helicopter.
How experienced do I need to be?
You need to be a strong hiker and have experience hiking/climbing above 4000 meters. Note that prior to ascending Mera Peak, we will provide you with essential training on glacier and ice techniques during our acclimatization period.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
