This program is specifically planned to prepare your body for the Matterhorn ascent**.** We'll go on a full week of acclimatization climbs. In this way, you can improve your technical and physical skills before the summit attack.
This 7-day guided climbing tour is an instructional trip that leads you to the Matterhorn summit. As you may know, this mountain is the dream of every mountaineer because its pyramidal shape is the icon of Alpine peaks.
Although it is a gorgeous mountain, the ascent is not so easy. In fact, it requires a very hard physical preparation and some previous background in high altitude. Therefore, I have planned this trip so that you can get ready to reach the summit safely. You will climb different peaks with slow and progressive difficulty until it's time for the biggest goal: the Matterhorn.
At the bottom of this description you will find the detailed itinerary of this 7-day program. The starting point will be at the base of the SkyWay so that we can have a briefing before going on our adventure.
Please note that Matterhorn is not suitable for beginners. Previous mountaineering experience (including technical skills) is required.
Please feel free to contact me and ask me all the questions you have. I can advise you on accommodation, booking process and next departures. All you have to do is to fill the form. I'll be waiting to plan this Matterhorn climbing tour together with you!
If you are already prepared / acclimatised and/or if you have less days, you can hire me for my classic 2-day Matterhorn climbing program.
We will meet at the SkyWay base station and check the equipment. We’ll also have a short briefing before heading to the Veny Valley.
During the first day you will learn the basis of climbing. On the contrary, you can renew your current technical skills.
After that, we’ll decide whether to do. Depending on your level we can choose among doing some exercises in crags or tackling an easy long route.
Then, we take a lift to the Torino Hut (3.375 meters high) where we will dinner and spend the night.
After breakfast we’ll crampon across the Géant Glacier. We will first reach the Col Flambeau and then the Col d’Entrèves (3,517 m). From there, we’ll ascend an easy rocky ridge to begin the traverse of the sharp Aiguille d’Entrèves. The ridge gets increasingly sharper and more technical as we approach its 3604-meter summit. Then, we descend on the ridge which gets easier until we are again on the glacier. Once in the track we return to the Torino Hut to spend the night.
We’ll wake up early and set out for the “Giant’s Tooth” (Dent du Géant). Following an easy track we will reach a steep little couloir. This leads to the attack point of the wall which leads to the Tooth’s “Gums.” The terrain is mixed, with some snow and some easy stretches of rock.
The actual climbing begins once we reach the Gums, with a few demanding and exposed segments. And after exactly 6 pitches we will finally reach the 4013-meter summit.
The descent will be by abseiling down to the Gums, then along the normal route. We’ll return to the Torino Hut. From there we will take a cable car to the parking lot.
We start a new day meeting us in Cervinia. We will have the equipment checked. Then, a 4×4 transfer will take us to the Duca degli Abruzzi Hut (2,802 m). From here, the route winds its way up a series of slabs until Colle del Leone, where the final climb towards the summit begins.
After a few challenging stretches, we’ll reach the Carrel Hut (3,830 m), where we’ll spend the night and recover energies for the following hard day.
We’ll leave the Carrel Hut around 4:30 am. The itinerary is intense and challenging all the way to Pic Tyndall. Another series of unique stretches, like the Enjambée and the Jordan Ladder, will lead us at last to our coveted summit (4,478 m).
The journey continues across steep and exposed terrain, and remains physically exerting and technically demanding until we reach the Hornli Hut, where a nice meal and some well-deserved rest await us.
We’ll depart the Hornli Hut and head towards the Furggen Glacier, where a pleasant traverse will take us to Theodul Hut, in time to catch the cable car back to Cervinia.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
