Description

Climbing Matterhorn through its normal route (Hörnli) generally takes 1 and 1/2 days. If you have doubts about your technical and physical level and if you want to be well acclimatized to the altitude, I propose you this 4-day guided course which will maximise your chances of reaching this awesome summit on the last day.

If you’ve already been climbing in the Zermatt region before, I can adapt the program and itinerary below according to your wishes and expectations.

You can find the itinerary below this description. Please note that the program is dependent on weather conditions.

You will be alone with me on the rope for the ascent of Mount Matterhorn. Somebody else could join us on the first few days. Another IFMGA mountain guide from our team would then join us for the last day.

If you want to climb Matterhorn and follow my preparation course to maximize your chances of reaching the summit and enjoying the most breathtaking views of the Alps, send me a request! It will be my great pleasure to guide you there.

In case you are looking for another classic climb, check out this 2-day ascent to La Dent Blanche.

Itinerary

Day 1: Almageller mountain hut.

We will first check your equipment and then move to Saastal to start hiking to the Almageller mountain hut. After a break and lunch at the refuge, we will go rock climbing or do the Dri Hörnli traverse in the afternoon.

Day 2: Almageller mountain hut.

We will climb the south ridge of Weissmies (4017m) going up and down the same way so that you get to know the rock. The night will be spent at the same hut as day 1, Almageller.

Day 3: Hörnli mountain hut.

We will go down, take the car to go to Täsch from where we will take a lift to Schwarzee. We will then hike to the Hörnli mountain hut.

Day 4: Summit day

We will climb Matterhorn from the Hörnli route and come back the same way.

Mountain Guide

Attracted by the mountains since childhood, I started with climbing and alpinism. I then discovered my passion for ski touring.
I started a Young&Sport instructor training to lead young people in the mountain, accompanied by guides. This experience inspired me to become a mountain guide, and I got certified in September 2015.
I work in a guide's office with other guides friends as Stéphane, Raphael, Christian and Jean-Luc, mountain leader.
What I love the most: make people enjoy, allow them to discover a region, laughing, everything in a safe way.
So if there's something you wish, if you dream of exploring a region or country, don't hesitate to contact me.
See you soon for new discoveries!

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
