On this full day trip in the beautiful Julian Alps, you will have the chance to learn how to properly ice climb.
The Julian Alps are full of gorgeous natural landscape, majestic peaks, and stunning views. They also rest within the borders of two wonderful countries, Italy and Slovenia. As a result, depending on where we choose to go, you will definitely get a unique experience. Some areas include the lovely towns of Bled and Kranjska in Slovenia, and the picturesque town of Tarvisio in Italy. However, despite the glorious differences between these places, the one thing they all have in common is some amazing nearby ice climbing.
It is an exhilarating experience making your way up what was once a furiously flowing cascade of water. It is also an experience that requires a great deal of practice, patience, and skill to master. And while you won't become an expert after just one day, I will teach you the basics. I will help you gain confidence by way of a step by step method. Thus enabling you to continue learning, and continue practising until you master this wonderful winter activity.
My first and primary goal of this trip is not only teaching you the basics of how to ice climb, but to also teach you how to do it safely. I will make sure you are using the proper equipment, while also practising the basics safely, at all times. Due to the potentially challenging nature of ice climbing, participants should be in good physical condition as well.
So if you want to learn how to ice climb, and you want to do it within the gorgeous Julian Alps, just send me a request, and let me guide you.
I also offer another ice climbing trip in the Dolomites as well.

Mountain Guide
I was still a child when my passion for high altitude began and grew with me. I was born in Trieste, Italy. Still young, I was carried by my parents, passionate trekkers, onto the mountains.
In the following years, I did all the activities one can do on mountains; from rock climbing to classic rock routes, to high altitude, to ice falls, to ski-touring, to free-riding, to spending every period of my free time wearing climbing shoes, ski-boots or crampons; the different equipment depended on the season I was in.
This passion for open spaces drove me and helped me make solid and long experiences in every kind of mountain activity there is. I graduated in Sports Science in order to pave the way to becoming an Alpine Guide.
Passion for outdoor life; independent of which activity you are doing—this is what I promote. Climbing, skiing, mountaineering, these activities are not a gym where we show off to others. They are reason to travel and explore new places that don’t belong in our ordinary, everyday life. They are a way to live as true adventurers. During any mountain trip, I take in the beauty of nature and enjoy relaxing in it.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
