Description

Join me on this great 7-day mountaineering and hiking traverse at the heart of the Julian Alps and climb Mount Triglav in Triglav National Park in Slovenia!

Triglav National Park is located in the northwestern part of the country. It is the only national park in Slovenia. Mount Triglav (2864 m) stands almost in the center of the park. It’s the highest mountain in the Julian Alps, and we will make it to the top! We will also hike around the beautiful Triglav Lakes area.

This programme is suitable for all levels of hikers. The shortest option involves 4-5 hours of hiking daily. It’s a great easy traverse!

Besides, every day we have the option of extending our hike. So, if the group wishes to do more, we can even climb a summit along the way. These can be done from the hut where we sleep or sometimes along the way for all the group.

The Mount Triglav summit ascent and descent is planned from the same hut. This means you don’t need to carry via ferrata equipment for the ascent during these 7 days, as we have the equipment in the hut. Also, it gives you the option of skipping the summit ascent easily, if you feel like it.

You can check the day-by-day itinerary below this text. Please note we can extend each day with a climb to a summit along the way, in case the group wishes to do so.

During this traverse, we will stay in typical slovenian mountain huts along the way. Be aware some of them have showers, but some huts higher in the mountains don’t even have running water.

I am a UIAGM mountain guide, ski instructor and sports teacher and the current president of the Slovenian Mountain Guide Association.

I am still the only guide who can make a living working exclusively in Slovenia. I climb Triglav more than 25 times per year, which means I have climbed the most famous peak in my country over 200 times.

If you want to climb or ski in Slovenian mountains I am the right choice. I guide via ferrata, rock climbing, snow climbing, ice climbing, hikes, heliski, freeride skiing and ski touring.

Slovenia has good options for all of these activities, so you are welcome to take a look at my trips and find something for yourself. If you don't find anything let me know and I will see if I can help you!

I speak English. Ich sprache auch ein bischen Deutsch. Parla anche un pocho Italiano e abla tambien un po Espanol.

If I am not available to guide you, one of the super experienced guides in my team - Rok, Peter, Grega or Igor - will be your guide.
