Description

Iceland is an amazing country for a variety of reasons, least of which is the great skiing!

For 8 exciting days, I would like to guide you on a ski mountaineering adventure that you will never forget. The area we will be staying and skiing is the Troll Peninsula. There you will get to choose from approximately 100 different skiable mountains. All of the mountains range in height from 1,000 to 1,500 metres. And because of the area’s altitude, the mountains are actually comparable to the 3,000 metre peaks of the Pyrenees. It is also worth mentioning that a bonus of skiing in Iceland is you can ski right to the sea!

Throughout the trip your group will have access to a private vehicle. As a result, depending on weather and snow conditions, we will be able to go to wherever the best skiing opportunities are. And at the end of each day, you will get to relax your body by bathing in one of the municipal hot springs in the towns of the area. And every night, you will get to sleep in a comfortable bed in the nearby, exclusive house that will be your accommodation.

Moreover, along with a week of great ski mountaineering, you will also get to spend a day in the capital of Iceland: Reykjavik. In the city, you will get to explore and experience its vibrant nightlife.

Price details

Along with the guiding fee, the price includes private transportation, 6 nights accommodation in the Troll Peninsula, and 1 night accommodation in Reykjavik. The price does not include flights and skiing equipment, which can be rented; however, we ask you let us know in advance. For meals, because the house in the Troll Peninsula has a fully equipped kitchen we will take a trip to a nearby supermarket for food, which you can then cook. The approximate cost for a weeks worth of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner is 150 Euros per person.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

On the first day of the trip, we will pick you up from the airport and take you on a scenic drive to your accommodation, where you can relax and rest for the night.

Day 2 to 6: Ski Mountaineering

Over these days, you will get to choose from a hundred skiable peaks throughout the Troll Peninsula. You will also get to bathe in the assortment of hot spring pools when you’re not ski mountaineering as well.

Day 7: Reykjavik

Today we will head to the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik, where you will get to enjoy the city and it’s wonderful night life.

Day 8: Departure

On the final day, you will have the opportunity to visit country’s famous geyser, or Thingvellir National Park, before we take you to the airport, where you will catch your flight home.

Participants should bring the following items with them: Backpack (25 - 30L), mountain ski equipment, safety equipment (skis, boots, skin, blades, canes), crampons, ice axe, helmet, technical clothing for ski mountaineering including t-shirt with thermal/synthetic tights, ski mountaineering pants, waterproof pants, waterproof jacket, buff for the neck, thin gloves, thick gloves, hat, cap, sunglasses, first aid kit, personal toiletries, sun cream, lip protection, photo camera.

Mountain Guide

I love what I do and love to transmit my passion while guiding.

After touring the world fulfilling my dreams, I have put together all the knowledge gained and a strong background as a mountain guide to become one of the most versatile, dedicated and professional guides in the Pyrenees.

My resume has technical training in mountain medicine, snow studies, search and rescue complete training, meteorology and botany.

I spend the winters enjoying the unique snow conditions in the Aran Valley, as a ski touring and freeride Guide, and summers climbing the countless areas of excellent rock, either granite, limestone or conglomerate in the Pyrenees. I also spend a lot of time in Iceland during the summer guiding my friends and clients across these incredible landscapes.

While traveling the world, I make every effort to show the beauty of the landscapes, the quality of the rock and the best snow in the Pyrenees to everyone who wants to check them out.
