Trekking through Argentinean Patagonia is unique and breathtaking experience. The shifting landscape places you in dense forests before delivering you to face an enormous glacier. You may find yourself in the midst of a sensational peak before kneeling down and hearing the subtle waves of a glacial lake. This trip begins in El Chalten, one of the best locations for regional hikes and a fantastic jumping off point for the adventure of a lifetime. Our journey into the remote areas of the park add to your trekking experience and leave you with a personal connection to this vast and beautiful wilderness.
The route selected for us includes some of the most stunning visual backdrops in Patagonia, with peaks like Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre making their much-anticipated appearances. For the duration of the trip you will have access to unforgettable valleys and glaciers.
When it comes to pure nature, you cannot find a better trek. From Paso del Viento and the Southern Patagonia Ice Field to the Viedma Glacier and its associated lakes, your once-in-a-lifetime trip will feature compounding elements of unrivaled beauty. You should have a moderate level of fitness, able to carry supplies for four sustained days of trekking. Some days will include up to 18 kilometers of hiking, lasting up to eight hours. You should possess the mental fortitude and desire to endure challenges of this nature.

Itinerary
Day 1: Laguna Toro Campsite
On our hike towards the Laguna Toro campsite, we will have a pleasant trip along a charming path with beautiful scenery at every turn. With meadows under the watchful summits of Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy, you will have a classic Patagonian trek to start your adventure.
Distance: 16 km.
Elevation: +600 m./-400 m.
Duration: 6 to 7 hours.
Day 2: Paso del Viento
This action-packed day includes zip-lining or wading across the Tunel River, traversing moraines, and reaching Paso del Viento and its notorious gusts. From the pass you can expect uncompromising views of powerhouse peaks, as well as the ice field itself.
Once successfully making it through the pass, we will descend to the campsite, established in proximity to an immaculate stream of pure Patagonian water.
Distance: 16 km.
Elevation: +800 m. / -400 m.
Duration: 7 to 8 hours.
Day 3: Viedma Glacier
Our day begins by following the Viedma Glacier. From above, we will spend the day outlining it with our trail, and appreciate the many amazing views from nearly every angle.
We will be accompanied by pristine lakes on our hike, and stop for a delightful lunch before a dedicated trek up. Keep your eyes peeled for condors as we make our way through the Huemul Pass, where a large “condorera” is located.
Heading into our next camp at Bahia de los Tempanos, we have a steep descent through the forest before reaching the face of the glacier and the crystal waters of Viedma Lake.
Distance: 18 km.
Elevation: +150 m. / -800 m.
Duration: 7 to 8 hours.
Day 4: Bahia Tunel
Our final day of the trek includes another exciting zip line after a delicious breakfast accompanied by a glacier sunrise.
Our final transfer will take us back to El Chalten to complete our amazing adventure.
Distance: 15 km.
Elevation: +200 m. / -200 m.
Duration: 5 to 6 hours.

All participants are responsible for carrying their own sleeping bag and mat, as well as necessary equipment and food.
Participants should bring the following items with them: 65 to 70-liter backpack, sleep bag, leggings, trekking boots, trekking poles, sunglasses, front torch with new batteries, one-liter water bottle, sun screen, lip balm, personal hygiene kit, waterproof jacket, waterproof pants, windbreaker jacket, trekking pants, change of underwear, three pairs of trekking socks, 2 pairs of gloves, and a hat for the sun.

Mountain Guide
I graduated in Buenos Aires as Universitary proffesional in tourism and as a Mountain Guide in Mendoza province. I started working in adventure activities, horseback riding and mountain ascents. Then i moved to Patagonia that was my dream place for living and thanks to this profession it became in my place for working and personal development.
After several years of experience working in these mountains and numerous trips around the world looking for adventures and experience, I managed to unite both professions in an objective, so Serac Expeditions arose. In the last 15 years working with Serac, I have organized trips for thousands of people and personally guided hundreds of them in diverse and remote places in Patagonia, Chile, Peru and Bolivia.

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area.
