Description

I want you to enjoy the full 4 day experience of reaching the summit of the Huayna Potosi (6,088m) mountain in Bolivia.

The Huayna Potosi is an incredible peak and is only a short drive from the city of La Paz. However, what makes the mountain so incredible is the view you will have from the top. Regardless if you are staring down at the Altiplano, or beyond at the entire Cordillera Real, the view will leave you breathless.

Because this trip is 4 days long, you will have a lot of time to explore, appreciate and admire this marvellous peak.

Day one will have us driving from La Paz to the Huayna Potosi's base camp at Zongo lake, where we will trek to Cerro Charquini (5,300m) for acclimatization. Day two will have us climbing to the high camp (5,200m), where we will stay the night. Day three will have us trekking to Campo Argentino (5,500m), where we will spend the night. Finally, on the day four we will make our way to the summit. After you have seen all you have wished to see, we will descend and drive back to La Paz.

The Huayna Potosi is one of Bolivia's most impressive peaks, and I want to guide you to its summit because I know every one of the four days spent climbing it will be days you will cherish for years to come.

Mountain Guide

I work together with several IFMGA/UIAGM colleagues. So if I'm not available to guide you, one of my colleagues equally certified will guide you.

I began to climb the mountain when I was 15 years old. I was born in Pinaya (3.800 m.a.s.l.), a region located not far away from the top of the base camp of the majestic snow-covered Illimani (6.462 m.a.s.l.). I dedicated most part of my life to climb different ice and Rock Mountains through the Cordillera Real, Cordillera Occidental, and Cordillera de Apolobamba.
