2-day hiking program in the Jura

2-day hiking program in the Jura | undefined

Discover this lesser-known French region with this 2-day hiking program in the Jura led by UIMLA-certified mountain leader Lucas.

Jura

2 Days

All year

Description

Jura meant "wooded areas" in Gaulish and you'll very quickly understand why! Discover the region's highlights during this 2-day hiking program in this off-the-beaten-track area in eastern France.

The Jura stretches for about 250 kilometers along the Franco-Swiss border. From Lake Geneva to Belfort, its dark wooded hills and rolling dairy country are a favorite among those seeking some tranquility and the simple pleasures of mountain life.

During these 2 days we will progress on both sides of Mt. Salaa and Noirmont. We will wander among spruce trees and pass through the region's characteristic farms. All while enjoying incredible views of the Alps and the Val d'Orbe.

This program is open to hikers of all levels, including young children. However, take into account that we'll be walking for 5 hours on the first day and 6 hours on the second. So make sure everybody in your group is able to handle this!

If you'd like to check a similar program I offer in this region, take a look at my discovery weekend in the Haut Jura. It's another great option!

Join me on this 2-day hiking program and discover this beautiful but lesser known French region. Contact me and we'll start planning this amazing mountain getaway!

Mountain Leader

I discovered the joy of the mountains at a very young age, and I knew that my place was there, in the Jura, the Alps, or elsewhere, but in a place where raised terrain allows to go high...
My experience in the Mountain Troops and the Gendarmerie, together with a regular practice of different mountain sports, allowed me to gain knowledge and know-how that enriched my mountain leader training.
In 2012 I got certified as State Mountain Leader (AEM), which allowed me to start fully living my passion for the mountain, and sharing it with you.
I propose to share very varied activities: walking ,hiking, trekking, snowshoeing. It allows me to enjoy precious moments in nature with you.
To complement my leader training, I discovered trail running 8 years ago, a more sportif and intense way to discover the mountain, always respecting the environment.
I can also offer you my expertise in Morocco, where I have been going often during these last years. My knowledge of the field and of the local correspondants allows me to propose magnificent journeys to you!
From the Jura to the Alps, not forgetting Pyrenees, Corsica and Morocco, my approach to the mountain has always been guided by the search of pleasure and the comprehension of the environment.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
