Description

An absolute gem in the Canary Islands, La Palma is a magnificent place to spend a week. And on this trip, which will last a total of 8 days, you will get to immerse yourself in a variety of aspects of this gorgeous place.

On this hiking trip, you will get to see incredible volcanoes like San Antonio and Teneguia. You will get to visit the sensational Marcos y Cordero spring. You will even get to visit the highest point of the island, the Roque de los Muchachos (2,426m). There is also the Laurisilva forest of Los Tilos and the Fuencaliente salt farm. And, of course, you will get to spend a full day trekking through and admiring the famed and incredible Caldera de Taburiente national park. Moreover, there is also an assortment of pine forests, volcanic landscape, and coastal area to trek through, not to mention a tobacco farm. Thus making this adventure in La Palma a trip that will be as interesting as it will be fun.

We will also be taking a day off from the hiking in the capital of La Palma, Santa Cruz. In Santa Cruz, you will get to check out the market, while admiring the old town’s collection of beautiful balconies.

We will be trekking from 3 to 6 hours per day on this trip. As a result, you should be in good physical condition.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

After being picked up at the airport, you will be transferred to your accommodation, where you will enjoy a delicious dinner and have a briefing about the trip to come.

Day 2: Marcos y Cardero

Today we will walk for approximately 5 hours alongside a water channel and through the Los Tilos forest until we reach the Marcos y Cardero spring.

Day 3: Volcano Crossing

We will hike from El Pilar for approximately 6 hours through the island’s only tobacco farm, while also crossing the island’s array of volcanic craters and pine forest.

Day 4: Caldera de Taburiente

Today we will trek for approximately 5 hours through the Caldera de Taburiente national park.

Day 5: Teneguia Volcano

For approximately 3 hours, we will trek around the Teneguia and San Antonio volcanoes and then visit the Fuencaliente salt farm. We will also enjoy a refreshing swim by the lighthouse on the coast.

Day 6: Santa Cruz

Today we will explore Santa Cruz, the capital of La Palma.

Day 7: Roque de los Muchachos

We will drive to the highest point of the island, the Roque de los Muchachos (2,426m) and then descend to the Pico de las Nieves. The total hiking time will be approximately 5 hours.

Day 8: Departure

On the final day of the trip, we will take you to the airport, where you will catch your flight home.
