Description

Situated at an altitude of 2,300 meters, Corbassière Glacier is a valley glacier that belongs to the Grand Combin massif in the Pennine Alps. If you follow me on this 2-day hike, we’ll discover this amazing natural spot as well as many others across the Bec de Corbassière route, near the Swiss village of Verbier.

On the first day of the program, we’ll drive to Lourtier and then ascend to the Cabane Brunet, a cozy mountain hut at 2,000 meters above sea level. This refuge is a popular starting point for different hiking and mountaineering programs. It is also where we’ll spend the night.

On the second day of the program, we’ll take the Bec de Corbassière route, discover the beautiful landscapes surrounding Col des Avouillons (2,647 meters) and descend to the Corbassière Glacier. At this point, we’ll cross the Passerelle de Corbassière, a 200-meter long and 70-meter high walkway above the glacier’s moraine. Afterwards, we’ll ascend to Cabane de Corbassière and reach Col des Otanes (2,845 meters). Finally, we’ll descend to the village of Fionnay and take the bus to La Châble.

If you’re planning to join me on this hiking adventure, keep in mind it’s important to have a good fitness level.

Ready to spend 2 fantastic days hiking in the middle of the Pennine Alps? Then all you have to do is send the request to book your place. It will be a pleasure for me to guide you around this beautiful natural area in Switzerland.

Another option in the area could be this hiking program that I lead in Val de Bagnes with overnight at the Cabane de Louvie. Check it out!

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
