Description

The Black Forest is a massif in southwest Germany, specifically in the southwest of Baden-Württemberg. It is one of the main green lungs of Europe. Its slopes begin at a height of 200 m, reaching to 1495 m in Feldberg, the highest mountain.

From Stuttgart or Basel airport it’s a 1:45 h drive to the hotel, in the heart of the Black Forest.

I am always happy to walk in the beautiful corners of the area with my friends and clients. Here we can enjoy deep valleys with rivers. In the open green pastures traditional architecture is mixed with forests. We find firs, beech, spruces, birches, hornbeams, maples and other species that coexist in dense and humid forests.

Being a mid-height mountain massif, heavily populated by vegetation, there is a very healthy climate. There are many spa locations where we can enjoy the healing and hot springs.

We will stay in the Rural Hotel Adler, in the Fohrenbühl mountain pass, 4 km from Lauterbach, in the heart of the Black Forest. Here we will enjoy a very attractive natural environment, a family atmosphere, a delicious breakfast with one of the best cuisine in the region. Wifi is free of charge for guests.

We will take hiking trails of easy/medium difficulty level. We walk on average 4 hours per day.

We will go to the most emblematic natural, cultural and gastronomic places of the region. We will walk in the south, center and north of the Black Forest. We will pass through the most attractive natural areas around the Feldsee glacial lake, or the spectacular gorge of Wutach river.

We will visit the most interesting cities in the surroundings, Freiburg and Baden Baden.

Contact me if you are planning to come next summer. It will be a real pleasure to guide you around and show you my favourite places in the Black Forest.

Selva Negra

Mountain Leader

English
Hi, nice to meet you!
I am working together with Laura Carmona González, we both were born in Spain and now we are living in the north of the Black Forest in Germany, close to the German Alps and the Vosges in France. Now I am going to tell you something else about myself.
I was born in Spain in a small village between Toledo and Madrid, nearby the Spanish Central Mountain Range. I have been living for some years in Scotland, New Zealand and 8 years in Germany. Spanish is my mother tongue and I talk fluent English and German as well as a bit of French.
I am qualified trekking, MTB and horse riding guide as well as Black Forest Middle-North Natural Park Guide - Schwarzwald Guide. Two years ago I finished my qualification as a Mountain Leader UIMLA.
Nature and mountains are a very important thing for me from long time ago, that is why I decided to take this hobby as my profession. I have worked more than fifteen years as a trekking, MTB and horse riding guide for many companies and travel agencies in different countries in the world.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
