The Haute Route is a popular ski touring expedition that connects France with Switzerland. If you want to discover this fabulous trail and ski the top-quality snow of the Alps, then join me!
First opened as a summer mountaineering route, the Haute Route is nowadays probably the most famous ski tour in the world. It goes from the Chamonix valley, home of Mont Blanc, to Zermatt, home of the Matterhorn.
On this 5-day trip, we will ski on perfect powder snow surrounded by breathtaking landscapes with impressive peaks, beautiful alpine valleys and amazing glaciers. Furthermore, we will spend the nights in charming huts sharing experiences with adventurers from all over the world!
The complete Haute Route traverses 180km. Our itinerary is a little easier than others. However, keep in mind that this is still a challenging ski touring trip: you need advanced skiing skills and a good fitness level!

From Argentiere (Chamonix) to the cableway station of Grands Montets (3,297mt.), ascending to the last station. Here we start a wonderful descent, with the Argentiere Glacier below, towards Chardonnet Hill (3,323mt.). After a short steep descent that is often done with ropes, we will reach the plateau of Saleina Glacier (3,323mt.). Final descent to Cab. Du Trient (3,170mt.).
From the hut, we descend along the Trient Glacier and the Ecadies hill (2,796mt.), to reach Vallone d’Arpette. Great descent leading to Champex (1,498mt.). Bus transfer to Orsieres and train to Martigny. Another bus will takes us to Arolla.
At Arolla we take the ski-lift up to the last piste. We cross to Pas de Chevre (2,855mt.) and ski towards Capanne de Dix (2 928mt.), where we stay for the night.
From Cab. de Dix we cross the Cheilon Glacier again, to re-ascend the slopes near the Serpentine Hill. After reaching the Pigne d’Arolla peak we ski down to Cab. Des Vignettes (3,158mt.).
From Cab des Vignettes we descend and cross the whole Mont Collon Glacier to Col de l’Eveque (3 392mt.). Below the Col du Mont Brulè (3 213mt.), we start the long descent all the way down to Zermatt. Return to Cervinia with the ski cableway and bus transfer back to Chamonix.

I am Reccardo Olliveri, class 1975, registered to the Alpine Guide College of Piemonte since 2002 and graduated in environment and territory engineering at the Turin technical college. I live at Turin, but I am resident in the Alps where I practice the mountaineering activity all through the year; I love the void and I play every time I can; on rock, ice, dry tooling and also skiing.
Its with great passion that I continue practicing the mountaineering activity and I dedicate myself to pass on to all those interested to know, the spirit and the ability to dedicate oneself close to the mountain in all its forms.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
