Join me this winter for a ski touring day in the Ticino area, one of the finest sites for ski touring in the Alps. It is also my hometown, so I got to learn a lot of its secrets and best spots.

I will select the specific route based on the weather and snow conditions, and let you know on the Thursday prior to the tour. My goal is to ensure we have the best and safest experience possible.

Some of the possible ascents in this area, between Ticino and Canton of Uri, are:

Lace Pascia (3,210 m)
Cristallina (2,903 m)
Val Piana
Brunnistock (2,952 m)
Tamierhorn (3,087 m)
Triangolino (2,951 m – Val Verzasca)

Finally, this tour requires intermediate technical skills and good physical condition in order to be able to ascend around 1,500 m (4 to 5 hours).

Groups will be between 3 and 5 skiers. Shovel and LVS are available for rental available for an extra CHF 20.

About the guide

Luca

Mountain Guide

I was born in 1988. Thanks to my parents, I learned to live and love the mountains. Already at 16, at my hometown Ticino, I started practicing mountaineering and other activities with my friends. Creativity reigned in every tour we went on.

Later, I developed my ski mountaineering and climbing techniques at the Alpine Club (Lugano). In 2008, I moved to Switzerland to complete my studies. I got my Biology Degree (2011) in Basel and my Master's in Neuroscience (2013) in Zurich. Yet, my love for the mountain remained alive and strong all along. This helped me take the next step: my training as an Alpine Guide.

I like to take my guests on a variety of activities. I mainly focus on wild and little known spots, as well as in niche activities like traditional climbing, which is based on the use of natural protections alone. My personal favorites? Long-climbing and exploration ski-mountaineering. I also offer hikes on the wild Ticino mountains, Val Varzasca or Val Bavona. In the summer season, I recommend the High Way of the Verzasca for a long excursion, or a less crowded peak of the Bernese Alps, to enjoy nature away from the most popular spots.

Overall, respect for nature is central to all my activities on the mountain. I am a big believer in diving into nature fully, to achieve a boost of positive energy and well-being, and get to know the mountain through sports, nature and culture.
