Description

Join me for a 2-Day Rock Climbing Expedition through the Grimsel Pass that includes spending a night in a Portaledge.

The Grimsel Pass offers some of the most amazing views of the Swiss Alps you will ever see. The summit of the pass reaches an altitude of 2,164 meters. Thus making it the perfect height to see the enormity of the mountain range it cuts through.

This adventure will involve vertical climbing on a granite rock face. You don't have to be a climbing expert for this trip, but some experience is needed. It is a 5A Top Rope Grade Ascent. However, once you reach the top, you will settle into a Portaledge.

If you are not familiar with what a Portaledge is, it is a hanging tent that you can sleep in, while suspended from a ridge or rock face. The biggest advantage of this suspended tent however, is the incredible, magical views it provides. Feeling as if you are a part of the mountains themselves, watching the world around you, you will see the stars and the moon at their brightest. You will see the lights of the towns below when night falls. And you will see the glistening snow of the peaks above when the sun rises. A Portaledge offers so much more than a place to sleep. It offers a place to dream. Even when your eyes are wide open.

So come and let me guide you on an amazing rock climbing trek through the famous Grimsel Pass and spend an unforgettable night in a Portaledge. Then return home with memories that will excite you whenever they are recalled.

I'll be awaiting your message.

And if you want to join me on a thrilling ascent of Allalinhorn, you can also join me here.

Mountain Guide

I grew up in Switzerland in Buchs Valley and have been fascinated by the mountains since I was a kid. Since 2005, I have been able to pursue my passion for the mountains professionally, working as a mountain guide. I love the variety of activities and seasons: a steep descent in the Pul Lake, climbing rock walls or an ice fall, or going down a gorge in a neoprene suit and abseiling in impressive waterfalls. I like to share my love for the mountains with my clients and provide great and unforgettable experiences. When I am not working as a mountain guide, I'm a dedicated father of two kids, I love kitesurfing and to play the guitar. And I'm always looking forward to my next trip! I have been guiding in New Zealand for a summer saison 2005-2006 for a NZ company. I'm a IFMGA certified guide and I hold the
IFMGA Canyoning Guide licence as well.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
