Description
The Grand Capucin mountain (3,838m) is an intimidating, yet beautiful peak in the Mont Blanc massif.
Of all the granite peaks to the east and south of the Mont Blanc du Tacul (4,248m), the Grand Capucin is the biggest. Jutting up from the ground like a jagged tooth, this mountain looms large in the midst of several large peaks.
This ascent is difficult. Previous climbing experience is necessary for this ascent. You should also be in excellent shape. Definitely not for beginners, scaling the Grand Capucin can be gruelling. That’s why on this trip, we have spaced out the ascent into 2 days. However, once you reach the top, the glorious feeling you will have is second to none.
Looming over the impressive and vast Geant glacier, the view you will have of this enormous slab of ancient ice and rock is breathtaking. Also, from the summit of the Grand Capucin, you will get to behold a great deal of the magnificent Mont Blanc massif as well.
The 2 day trip will start at the Skyway cable car, which we will take to Punta Helbronner (3,400m). From there we will make our way up to the Torino hut, where we will stay the night. On the second day, we will make our way to the base of the Grand Capucin before taking the Swiss route for our 300 metre, Max 6B ascent to the summit. Once there, you will get to catch your breath, only to have it taken away again by the incredible views you will get to enjoy.

- All participants must also purchase mandatory search and rescue insurance for 5 euros per person.
- The price does not include half board accommodation at the Torino refuge, which is 55 euros per night, per person. It also does not include a twoway ticket on the Skyway cable car (48 Euros per person), or climbing equipment, however, you can rent equipment including helmet, harness, crampons, ice-axe, mountain shoes, climbing shoes, for 15 euros per person, per day.

All participants should bring sunglasses with high protective lenses, sunscreen and lip balm, beanie, mountain gloves, breathable t-shirt, warm fleece, waterproof jacket, Schoeller climbing pants, extra t-shirt, camera, 1 litre bottle of water or thermos, cap, energy bars.
